Baby P bungle doc suspended

A DOCTOR who failed to spot Baby P’s broken ribs and back during an examination has been suspended, the General Medical Council (GMC) said .

Dr Sabah Al-Zayyat missed the injuries days before the 17-month-old boy died in a blood-splattered cot following abuse from his mother, her boyfriend and a lodger.
In a statement today, the GMC said its Interim Orders Panel had decided to suspend Dr Al-Zayyat’s registration. It added: “Investigations are ongoing and it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage.”

Baby P died in August last year after suffering more than 50 injuries.

Two days before his death, Dr Al-Zayyat examined the toddler at a child development clinic at St Ann’s Hospital in north London.
The doctor, who qualified in Pakistan and worked in Saudi Arabia before coming to Britain in 2004, noticed bruises to his body.
But she decided she could not carry out a full systemic examination as the boy was “miserable and cranky”.
She did not realise one of his fingernails was missing and, when asked why she had not noticed his ribs were broken, replied: 'It's difficult to see through the chest.'

A post-mortem examination later revealed injuries including a broken back and ribs, believed to have been obtained prior to the examination.
After the case came to light, Dr Al-Zayyat had her contract with Great Ormond Street Hospital – responsible for child services in Haringey – terminated and was banned from working unsupervised.

the GMC’s interim panel decided to upgrade this to a full suspension.

A statement read today: “The Interim Orders Panel decided on Friday November 21 to suspend Dr Al-Zayyat’s registration.
“Investigations are continuing and it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage.”
Last week, Dr Al-Zayyat broke her silence over the case of Baby P.
In a statement made through the Medical Protection Society, which gives professional indemnity to healthcare professionals, she said: “Like everyone involved in this case, I have been deeply affected by the shocking and tragic circumstances of this young child’s death.

“My professional career has been devoted to the care of children. I will cooperate with any investigation to identify whether lessons can be learnt from this case - but I feel it would be inappropriate to provide any further comment to the press at this time.”

Dr Al-Zayyat was working as a locum paediatrician at St Ann's Hospital in Tottenham when she examined Baby P on August 1 last year.

Osama Junior's asylum bid binned

TERROR chief Osama Bin Laden’s son has had an appeal for asylum in Britain rejected.

Omar Bin Laden, 27, and his English-born wife Zaina, 52, applied for sanctuary , saying their lives were in danger.

Sources say Omar, one of the al-Qaeda leader’s 19 sons, made his application from his temporary home in Qatar. Spain denied him asylum earlier in the year.
Britain refused him and his wife Zaina — formerly Jane Felix-Browne — a visa in January. Last night a Home Office insider said: “There is no way he is coming here.

“The rules are clear. Even if he had turned up here we would have deported him.”
Zaina, who had been married five times before, wed Omar in 2006. Omar, a Saudi citizen, claims they are under a death threat from the Saudi government.

He has admitted attending al-Qaeda training camps, but says he gave up his links before the 9/11 terror attacks in 2001.
CAR registration numbers that may be snapped up by terrorist sympathisers have been BANNED.

They are among hundreds of potentially offensive plates spotted by licensing chiefs.
O54MA (Osama), HO57AGE (hostage), BU58OMB (bus bomb), MA56ACA (massacre), and HE58OLA (Hezbollah) will not be issued by the DVLA. Anything including JEHAD or HAMAS is also out.

Other plates on a black list drawn up by a secret panel are thought provocative on religious grounds or likely to spark racial hatred.
They include MO56LEM (Moslem), anything with the letters KORAN or JESUS, GA55OVN (gas oven) and GOO5TEP (goosestep).
Plates like BOO4ZYY (boozy) are banned to discourage drink-driving. And SEX is a no-no.

Check out some of the banned plates in our slideshow, below.

A spokesman for the Swansea-based DVLA said: “Every number is checked to ensure it doesn’t cause offence.”
Lib Dem transport spokesman Norman Baker, who obtained the list under Freedom of Information laws, said: “Some combinations would be deeply offensive.
“But it’s over the top to ban words about booze and sex. It’s a bit nanny state.”

British Muslims have become a mainstay of the global 'jihad'

More than 4,000 British Muslims have passed through terrorist training camps in Afghanistan and Pakistan, according to security agencies, providing a fertile recruitment pool for the Islamist international jihad.

Men from the UK's Kashmiri community have joined groups such as Lashkar-e-Toiba, the prime suspects in the Mumbai attacks, which have been fighting against Indian forces in Kashmir. Others from a Pakistani background are in the ranks of the Taliban and other groups taking part in action against British and Nato forces in Afghanistan.

A former commander of the British force in Helmand, Brigadier Ed Butler, has revealed that his troops had come across British Muslims in southern Afghanistan. "There are British passport holders who live in the UK who are being found in places such as Kandahar," he said. "There is a link between Kandahar and urban conurbations in the UK. This is something the military understands, but theBritish public does not."
Last year, RAF Nimrod intelligence-gathering aircraft tracking Taliban radio signals in Afghanistan heard insurgent fighters speaking with Yorkshire and Midlands accents.
As well as fighters joining their ranks, groups such as Lashkar also benefit from funds raised on their behalf in the UK by the Muslim community. It has also been claimed that some of the aid money donated for the earthquake disaster relief three years ago was siphoned off for militant groups.

Lashkar, previously known as Jaish-e-Mohammed, has forged links with al-Qa'ida in Pakistan and are said to have shared training camps. One of their most famous recruits was Rashid Rauf, accused of being a key member in the plot to blow up transatlantic airliners, who was recently reported to have been killed in an American missile strike.
British Muslim recruits have also been involved in other conflicts. Asif Hanif, 21, from London, killed three people and injured 55 by blowing himself up in Tel Aviv. A companion, Omar Sharif, 27, from Derby fled the scene after explosives strapped to his body failed to detonate and was later found dead, his body washed up on an Israeli beach.

Somalia's transitional government has accused Britain of being the main source of money and men for the fighters of the Islamist Courts Union (ICU), a fundamentalist group, in the country. The then deputy prime minister, Hussain Mohammed Aideed, declared: "The ICU's main support was coming from London, paying cash to the ICU against the government. Among those who died in the war with the ICU wereBritish passport holders."
The Independent, in Mogadishu after the Somali capital was taken over by Islamist forces last summer, discovered a significant number of young Somalis who had returned to fight for the Islamists from the diaspora in the West. Half a dozen young men, including two brothers from Wood Green in north London, were acting as bodyguards for Sheik Yusuf, one of the main Islamist commanders. One of the brothers, Hamid, said at the time: "The true Muslims are the only ones who are honest and who are patriots. We are doing our duty by fighting for the cause of Islam, which is above all countries."

Britain has also been accused of being the centre where a number of terrorist plots abroad were planned. Moutaz Almallah Dabas, a Syrian-born Spanish citizen accused of helping those who took part in the 2004 Madrid train bombings, was extradited from London to Spain after the discovery of links between the attack and an alleged cell in England.

Islamic Cleric Praises Mumbai Massacre...

HATE preacher Anjem Choudary last night praised the slaughter of 300 people in Mumbai.

And in a vile rant he said any Brits killed had only themselves to blame for being on the “battlefield” in the war Muslims nuts are waging against the world.Extremist Choudary, 41, the right-hand man of exiled cleric Omar Bakri, 50, and former leader of banned hate group al-Muhajiroun, said the attacks were revenge for the West’s “crusades” against Islam.

Outspoken Choudary, whose family live on £25,000-a-year benefits in London, raged: “Any Britons or Americans who visit Muslim countries are entering a battlefield and risk being used as hostages by al-Qaida to publicise its cause.”He added: “The attacks bear all the hallmarks of a carefully planned al-Qaida operation as part of the global jihad against the crusades. “I would not be surprised if they release a video very soon.”

Mumbai-style massacre in Britain.

Forced marriage cases up by 80pc this year

A special Government unit dedicated to stopping teenagers being married off by their families dealt with 300 cases in the first half of this year, up from 168 in the same period of 2007.

But the head of the Forced Marriage Unit, based at the Foreign Office, fears this could be just the tip of the iceberg as many victims are too scared to come forward and communities often close up to hide what is going on.
Wayne Ives also warned that heads of families are going to extreme lengths to get their children to marry, in some instances posing as officials to kidnap runaway brides or paying people to track them down.

His comments came as a new law comes into effect next week, which will make it easier for courts to stop ceremonies going ahead if it is feared that the bride and groom are being married against their wills.
A separate law will see the minimum age at which foreigners can come to Britain to get married being increased.
Despite the drive to tackle forced marriages, however, many feel it is still taboo because of fears of criticising immigrants from Pakistan and Bangladesh, who are involved in most cases.
Schools have refused to discuss so-called honour crimes in case they cause offence to ethnic minorities or religions, while MPs have been accused of failing to highlight forced marriage in case they lose Muslim votes.
In a recent speech to a Capita conference, Mr Ives told delegates: "We are talking about endemic abuse of the worst kind against young men and women which is happening right here and right now."

He said the mere fact that a teenage girl is seen wearing a short skirt or having a boyfriend can be enough for her relatives to decide she has betrayed the family and must be forced to marry someone they deem acceptable, while others make disabled children get married so they can have a carer in a "warped form of altruism".
In total, 90 per cent of cases dealt with in Britain involve Bangladeshi or Pakistani families, but investigators are uncovering growing numbers of forced marriages involving Iranians, Turks, Kurds and Somalis.

Thanks to increased awareness, the Forced Marriage Unit has had 1,200 inquiries this year, 300 of which are being investigated as possible cases.
But Mr Ives warned: "What we've seen is the tip of the iceberg."
Mr Ives said it was unacceptable for people to tolerate forced marriage as just part of a different culture.
"It's not simply a cultural ceremony. It's people being abused, being raped."
He said forced marriage had not been criminalised because it was believed victims would not want to see their relatives arrested.
But the new Forced Marriage (Civil Protection) Act, which comes into force on November 25, will allow anyone to demand a injunction against a wedding ceremony going ahead or an intended bride or groom being taken overseas. Anyone who breaches these court orders could be prosecuted.

In addition, on Nov 27 the minimum age at which foreigners can come to Britain to get married will rise from 18 to 21 before a marriage visa can be granted.

Mr Ives went on to describe the lengths some families will go to in order to track down those who they want to be married.
"Two uncles managed to dress up as airport officials and tried to arrest a girl when she arrived in Pakistan.

"In the UK you're dealing with networks, bounty hunters are being used and particularly in the north taxi drivers are being asked to say 'if you see this person let us know'."
He said victims sometimes suffer even if they have the courage to come forward, as the authorities may not believe their stories and then contact their families, with the result that they suffer even worse abuse afterwards. If they run away from home, meanwhile, they are left isolated from their communities.

British children as young as nine are being forced to marry against their will by their families

Hats off to the BBC. It manages to run this item on the subject of new laws aimed at outlawing forced marriages without ever once mentioning Islam. Well done BBC - consummate skill. Forced marriages, along with "honour murder" is just part of the rich cultural heritage that Islam has been bringing into the UK but you would be hard-pressed to figure that from the BBC's coverage.

ALL INMATES EAT HALAL CHICKEN IN SCOTS JAIL - BECAUSE 7 OF THEM ARE MUSLIMS

PRISON chiefs are defying an official report and serving halal meat to an entire young offenders institute to avoid upsetting a handful of Muslim inmates.

Managers at Polmont run the risk of being accused of pandering to political correctness. It is thought they are buying in chicken from a halal supplier to avoid being accused of religious discrimination.
But the chickens – which have their throats cut to satisfy Islamic law – are required by only seven young men.

Last year a report by Her Majesty’s Inspector of Prisons forced bosses to cut back on sourcing all of its meat from halal butchers due to the small numbers of Muslims.
Inspectors found it too expensive to justify. But prison officials admit that they continued the policy to avoid “prejudicing the position” of the handful of religious inmates. Mark Wallace, spokesman for the Taxpayers’ Alliance, said: “A lot of people will be concerned that money meant for the criminal justice system is instead being spent on food that is dubious in terms of animal welfare, as well as more expensive.”

The measures are in place despite the fact that the institute holds 15 frozen halal meals at any time in the event of requests from Muslim prisoners.
A spokesman for the Scottish Prison Service said: “Halal chicken is approximately the same price as non-halal. A vegetarian option is provided for each meal and so if the meat dish is not halal any Muslim may take it.”

Solicitor who represents terror suspects earns £1.6m in Legal Aid in just two years

A solicitor who specialises in defending terror suspects had £1.6million paid to her firm in Legal Aid in only two years.

Mudassar Arani's clients have included hooked-handed preacher of hate Abu Hamza and Al Qaeda terrorist Dhiren Barot.
She also represented a number of suspects in the July 21 bomb trial, earning a rebuke from the judge for her tactics.
Now Freedom of Information requests have revealed her firm Arani and Co, based in London, was paid £770,091 in Legal Aid during the financial year 2006 to 2007.

The following year she received another £890,813 from the Legal Services Commission, though that may be for previous years' work.
In seven years Arani and Co has taken £3.5million from Legal Aid. Its income quadrupled since 2001 to 2002, when it received £230,314.
Miss Arani has made a series of controversial remarks and appearances.

Last year, she suggested terrorist fanatics should be granted 'prisoner of war' rights inside Britain's jails. She said her clients feel it is unfair they must undergo frequent searches and curbs on meeting other imprisoned radicals.
Miss Arani, who said she was speaking on behalf of convicted Al Qaeda mastermind Barot, said: 'Why should he suffer? Isn't it bad enough to have to serve your sentence? Why does he have to be placed in segregation?'

The Legal Services Commission said the payments to her firm were for the work of her solicitors, caseworkers, support staff and overheads such as office costs or management.

Muslims have 'victim mentality'

British Muslims are guilty of a "victim mentality" and should take greater responsibility for their lives, a Muslim Labour MP has argued.

Sadiq Khan also said more British Muslims must tackle sexism, learn English and condemn forced marriages.
The representative for Tooting, south London, made his comments in a report for the Fabian Society think tank.
Muslim youth organisation the Ramadhan Foundation said Mr Khan was out of touch with grassroots Muslims.

In his report, entitled Fairness, Not Favours, Mr Khan said: "We need to take more responsibility for our own families, ignore those who propagate conspiracy theories, and above all we need to leave behind our victim mentality.
"We must all agree that honour killings are murder and forced marriages are kidnapping. These traditions have no place here or anywhere."

He also claimed that Muslims in Britain are pre-occupied by foreign policy and not concerned enough about day-to-day political issues.
"Muslims need to recognise childcare is as important as Kashmir," he said.
Assistant whip Mr Khan said there was no question that people coming to live in Britain should learn English and he criticised "liberal anxiety" about the issue.

"The requirement to learn English is not colonial. English is a passport to participation in mainstream society - jobs, education and even being able to use health services," he said.
"Having poor English creates multiple barriers to work; it decreases your confidence, makes it harder to gain other skills and qualifications and increases the likelihood of unemployment and your withdrawal from the labour market."

Mohammed Shafiq, chief executive of the Ramadhan Foundation, said the "real issues" holding Muslims back were "poverty, crime, racism and Islamophobia".
He said: "We do not have a victim mentality but are victims of this government's failure to deal with real issues, issues around poverty, tackling the underlying causes of why there is terrorism in this country."
He said the Ramadhan Foundation had a long history of opposing forced marriages and so-called honour killings.

Mr Shafiq added there was no conflict between a concern for the fate of Muslims abroad and an awareness of the domestic political issues of Britain.
However Shaista Gohir, director of both Muslim Voice UK and Muslim Women's Network UK, agreed that more needed to be done by Muslims to tackle sexism, forced marriages and honour killings.

She also agreed it was important for British Muslims to speak English.

Ms Gohir, who is a government adviser on Muslim women, told the BBC: "Not being able to speak English is not only a barrier to integration but is also disempowering for individuals, so I agree that Muslims who do not speak English need to make more of an effort to learn."
But she said it was an over-generalisation to say Muslims had a victim mentality.
She said: "Muslims are facing increasing amounts of Islamophobia and discrimination so, if some have a victim mentality, can you blame them?"

"Yes Muslims do need to take greater responsibility of their lives but so do other communities that suffer problems such as under-age drinking and increased gun and knife crime."
In July the government launched a package of measures responding to calls from Muslim communities to support the promotion of citizenship and shared values, said a Department of Communities and Local Government spokesman.

£3k curry treat for jail's Muslims

MUSLIM prisoners at a top security jail were bought £3,500 worth of takeaway curries, it emerged last night.

Prison officers drove 40 miles to a restaurant after inmates moaned jail meals were not tasty enough.
And the curries were not checked for smuggled weapons on the way into prison in case they got COLD, sources said.

More than 150 prisoners and 50 staff tucked into the beef madras and lamb rogan josh meals worth £18 each from the Roti Food Bar in Peterborough, Cambs. They were to celebrate Eid — the end of the Ramadan month of fasting.
A non-Muslim ex-inmate at Whitemoor jail said: “They tried to do the curries in-house but the prison chefs couldn’t meet the budget of £1.80 per prisoner — and the Muslim inmates complained that it tasted rubbish.

“The smell of it wafting was torture for the rest of us.”
A third of the jail’s 458 inmates are Muslim — the highest level in the country. Yesterday prison bosses denied claims Al-Qaeda prisoners had “hijacked” the jail.

Tory MP Malcolm Moss, who visited recently, said: “They are a law unto themselves. There is a fear in the prison about what al-Qaeda can do.
“There are threats made to people to make them convert.” Governor Steve Rodford denied Mr Moss’s claims.

Last night Justice Security Jack Straw launched a probe into the curry scandal.
A prison service spokesman said: “One of the key challenges at Whitemoor is improving cultural understanding between staff and prisoners.”

Sharia-Compliant Pensions Sign of Islamic Muscle in Britain...

The scheme to provide retirement funds for millions who do not already have a company pension is likely to include a special option that would not invest in companies deemed sinful under Islam.

Ministers are keen to get Muslims saving with the Personal Accounts Delivery Authority, as many who have low-paid jobs or who have moved to Britain in recent decades are unlikely to have put away much for their old age.

The decision to provide a Sharia-compliant pension fund is another sign of the growing influence of Islamic law in British public life and in particular the country's finance industry.
The prospect of some aspects of Sharia law such as divorce proceedings and dispute resolution being enshrined in the English legal system – raised by the Archbishop of Canterbury and Lord Chief Justice this year – remains highly controversial because of fears that the system discriminates against women and that a two-tier approach would be divisive.
But more and more financial products are being tailored to cater for Britain's population of 2million Muslims.

The religion's book, the koran, forbids Muslims from making money from money, so they cannot use products that involve the charging of interest nor invest in traditional financial services firms.
Gambling, drinking and pornography are also seen as immoral under Islam, so Muslims cannot put their money into companies that promote these activities.
The Islamic finance market is estimated to be worth £500million already and is growing rapidly.
Families can already get Sharia-compliant baby bonds under the Government's Child Trust Fund scheme while the UK is likely to become the first Western country to issue Islamic bonds in order to raise money from the Middle East.

This year has also seen the launch of Britain's first Islamic insurance company and pre-paid MasterCard. There are a handful of wholly Islamic banks in the country and several more that offer alternatives to mortgages which do not involve the charging of interest.
When the Personal Accounts Delivery Authority launches in 2012, as many as 10 million people who do not have a decent occupational pension will become automatically enrolled and made to save a minimum of 4 per cent of their earnings a year, matched by a 3 per cent contribution from their employer and 1 per cent tax relief from the Government.
Savers will be able to choose from a range of funds into which their money will be invested, with one option likely to be Sharia-compliant.

A spokesman for the authority said: "In early 2009 we will be consulting on the potential approach to investment. Issues that we envisage incorporating into the consultation document include the overarching investment objective, the default strategy and lifestyling of funds and fund choices beyond the default strategy.
"This will include the appropriateness of making available religion compliant funds (e.g. Sharia) and funds focussing on social, environmental and ethical issues."
Its plan was backed this week by a report by the Pensions Policy Institute and the Equality and Human Rights Commission on how to improve the lot of Britain's "under-pensioned", such as disabled people, women and ethnic minorities, who in many cases have not worked long enough to be entitled to a full state pension of £90.70 a week when they retire.

The study said: "The inclusion of a Sharia-compliant investment choice might be important to encourage participation among some ethnic minority groups."

Douglas Murray, director of the Centre for Social Cohesion think tank, said the Government should not be creating parallel financial or legal systems for different groups in Britain.
He said: "It's a great mistake for the Government to think this is desirable or even necessary."

Islam is invading British life of the non muslim Brit - from the cradle to the grave as dhimmi politicians and educators herd British adults and children down the one way street of Islamisation.

Jailed al-Qaeda jihadist enrolled in "comedy-workshop"

An Al Qaeda terrorist serving 18 years for his involvement in a plot to bomb London was taught how to be a stand-up comic at his top-security prison.

Evil Zia Ul Haq was enrolled in an eight-day “comedy workshop” at Whitemoor jail, along with murderers and rapists.
An inquiry was launched today by the director of high security prisons to consider whether further action was needed, the Ministry of Justice said.

A spokeswoman added: “The director general of the National Offender Management Service is personally briefing governors from all prisons on the need to take account of the public acceptability test in relation to prison classes.”
The 18 cons were given lessons in stand-up, comic drama, improvisation and scriptwriting.
Once they “graduated” they were due to get a certificate and display their new talents with a comedy show for fellow inmates and guards.

On Thursday Justice Secretary Jack Straw canned the "totally unacceptable" course. He also vetoed a plan by the Category A Cambridgeshire prison to set up its own comedy club.
Ul Haq, 29, was given an 18-year stretch last year for his part in a plot to bomb buildings in London and the rest of the U.K.
He was a member of a sleeper cell controlled by British Al Qaeda "general" Dhiren Barot, 35, who is serving a minimum of 30 years.

Ul Haq, of Paddington, West London, has a degree in construction management. And he was recruited to advise on locating bombs so buildings would collapse when they exploded.
Anti-terror cops said the cell planned to cause "huge loss of life" using limos packed with gas cylinders.

The class started on Monday and ran for three days before Straw stepped in. He said: "As soon as I heard about it, I instructed it must be immediately cancelled."

Machete-Wielding Muslim Gang Breaks up Birthday Party...

A TWENTY FIRST birthday party at Nelson Cricket Club ended in three people needing hospital treatment after a group of uninvited men of Asian-heritage appearance turned up with weapons.

Two men were arrested and later released on police bail following the disturbance at the Seedhill club at 11 p.m. on Friday. Snooker cues were recovered by police and witnesses reported seeing a machete at the scene. One man from the 100-guest party sustained nasty cuts to the head that required stitches, another had a suspected broken hand and a third suffered bruising.According to police, three men of Asian-heritage appearance had a disagreement with individuals at the party, left the club and returned with "reinforcements", bringing the total to nine or 10.

The incident is not being treated as being racially motivated.Det. Insp. Sion Hall said: "It would appear some lads have come down to the party and some sort of disturbance has occured. The lads have gone away and come back with weapons and reinforcements."Due to the number of people at the scene it is going to be a lengthy inquiry. We've got most of the people at the party to come forward but independent witnesses, perhaps out walking their dog at the time, would be more than welcome."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Nelson CID on 472644 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

UK militant 'killed in Pakistan'

A fugitive British militant linked to an alleged UK plot to use liquid bombs to blow up transatlantic airliners has been killed in Pakistan, reports say.

Pakistani media said Rashid Rauf, born in Birmingham, was killed in a US air strike in North Waziristan, a haven for militants and the Taleban.
Mr Rauf, on the run after escaping from Pakistani custody, was seen as a link between the UK plotters and Pakistan.
Three men were convicted in the UK in September of conspiracy to murder.

News of the liquid bomb plot paralysed global air travel, prompting authorities to implement stringent security measures at airports around the world.
Rashid Rauf was arrested in Pakistan on 9 August 2006, at the request of US authorities, who feared he was about to disappear into the remote north-west of the country.

ALLEGED LIQUID BOMB PLOT
Group accused of plotting to carry liquid explosives onto planes at London Heathrow Airport
Arrests in August 2006, after Rashid Rauf detained in Pakistan
Move prompted increased security at UK and US airports
At trial, three men convicted of conspiracy to murder
None found guilty of conspiring to target passenger aircraft

One day later authorities in the UK and the US implemented strict security measures at airports, fearing possible bomb attacks.
Hundreds of flights were delayed at airports around the world with massive disruption at major UK terminals and in the US, amid security service fears that militants were planning to mix liquids into lethal explosives.

Terrorism charges against the Briton were eventually dropped but he remained under detention in Pakistan as a "preventative measure".
Mr Rauf, who is thought to have Pakistani citizenship through his family connections, then escaped custody in December 2007 while on his way to an extradition hearing under police guard.
West Midlands Police in the UK were seeking his extradition from Pakistan as a suspect in the murder of his uncle, who was killed six years ago.

Several Pakistani TV channels reported that Mr Rauf was one of five people killed on Saturday by a presumed US attack in the country's remote north-western region.
Unnamed Pakistani intelligence sources said that a wanted Egyptian militant, Abu Zubair al-Masri, was among the others killed.
However, the BBC has so far been unable to independently confirm the news.
A young Asian woman at the Rauf family home in the Ward End area of Birmingham said they had had no confirmation of his death, and no contact from Britain's Foreign Office.
She said the family wanted to be left alone "to deal with this".

Islamist militants use the mountainous tribal areas along the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan as a safe haven for training and resupply.
The US regularly uses pilotless drones to attack militant targets in the region, a tactic that has caused growing resentment among Pakistan's leaders.
On Thursday the government summoned the US ambassador in Islamabad to protest one day after an attack deep inside Pakistani territory killed five people - including at least one alleged militant.
Pakistan says the constant missile strikes infringe its sovereignty. The BBC's Barbara Plett, in Islamabad, says the attacks spark widespread anger in Pakistan - especially among tribal figures.

In that context, Saturday's attack will be reported in Pakistan as another violation of Pakistan's sovereignty and not for the possible killing of Rashid Rauf, our correspondent says.
The US says the insurgents use the territory to launch attacks against coalition forces in Afghanistan.

Islamabad has been pursuing a policy of ad-hoc peace deals with local Taleban commanders.
.
"Jihad obligatory for every Muslim: Rashid Rauf," from the Daily Times, April 17, 2007:
.
I'm surprised the BBC haven't been speculating that poor Rashid the Brit hadn't been on some sort of educational or charitable tour of Jihadistan - after all that's pretty much the line retailed concerning every other "Brit" that ended up in Gitmo!

HISTORIC BRITISH PUB RENAMED - WAS OFFENSIVE TO MUSLIMS

BIRMINGHAM Mail readers have spoken out against the decision to change the name of a historic city pub – accusing it of being “politically correct”.

The home of the famous Saracen’s Head, in Kings Norton Green, will become known as Saint Nicolas Place said its owners, at the nearby St Nicolas Church.
Angry letters fired off to the Mail said the church had no right to “wipe away 300 years of history” for fear of offending Muslims.
Ann Spooner, of Kings Norton, wrote: “To us it will always be the Saracen’s Head.”
The 18th-century former inn was originally built as a rich wool merchant’s house in the 1400s and was given to the church in 1930. In 2004 it won £500,000 to help bring it back to its former glory in the BBC programme Restoration.
Cannon Rob Morris said the church consulted with its congregation of more than 300 and the Friends of Historic Kings Norton in reaching the controversial choice.

In 2004 the Birmingham Mail reported how the Very Rev Morris said the name was “offensive” to Muslims. But he said the reason behind the name-change was to stop people from mistaking the building – now a community centre and church office – for a pub. It was also to recognise the role of the church and its more than a million pounds’ worth of investment.
Keith Carton, from Kings Norton, said: “When was the last time anyone can recall coachloads of lager louts turning up for a heavy session?”

Rod Murphy, from Northfield, said: “This barmy decision has nothing at all to do with people thinking the building is still a pub. The only people who use the building are locals and they know full well it is not a pub.”

Rod was among many who felt the new name was prompted by a fear of offending Muslims.

He said: “This is the real reason that the name is being changed. How the misguided, deluded do-gooder Canon Rob Morris can be allowed to wipe away 300 years of history is beyond belief.”
Mr Morris denied the charge adding the site would be home to the Saracen’s Head Cafe.
He said: “I’m surprised at how many people have complained.”

and undoubtedly will be added to the ever growing list of THINGS THAT OFFEND MUSLIMS

Asian worker whose colleagues mocked up pictures of him sitting beside bin Laden sues firm for £50,000

An Asian worker whose colleague created fake photos of him sitting in a cave with Osama bin Laden is suing his former firm for £50,000.

IT manager Vinod Rajdev says that workmates at software provider Civica routinely taunted him that he was an al Qaeda terrorist 'mastermind'.
Mr Rajdev complains that his face was superimposed on to that of bin Laden's right-hand-man Ayman al-Zawahiri in a famous photo of the two terror chiefs.
He arrived at his desk to find two mock-up photos - one framed - showing him alongside bin Laden in a hideout with an AK47 rifle by his side.

Mr Rajdev, 58, alleges that he was also called a 'Paki' and 'Corner shop' by colleagues.
And he says that he was nicknamed 'Shahbaz' after gay Pakistani contestant Shahbaz Chauhdry on Channel 4 reality show Big Brother 7.
Mr Rajdev, who is of Indian origin, is claiming constructive unfair dismissal, religious and race discrimination against Civica.
Civica, which supplies software to 90 per cent of Britain's local authorities, denies his claims.
It has said that the photo was part of office 'banter' and that Mr Rajdev had joined in jokes that he was an al Qaeda leader.

In legal papers submitted to Bedford Employment Tribunal, Mr Rajdev tells how he had worked as a computer programmer since 1998.
Married father-of-three Mr Rajdev, of Kingsbury, north-west London, says that the racist abuse began at Civica's Luton office in November 2005, where he was a senior programmer and team leader.
He says that the ringleader, Mark Davis, used the famous 2001 photo of bin Laden with his second in command to humiliate him.
He says: 'In March 2007, Mark Davis placed framed photos of Osama bin Laden and myself together on my desk.

'The entire staff broke into laughter when I came into work and found the photos.'
In May 2006, Mr Davis allegedly shouted 'Shahbaz' at Mr Rajdev as he arrived at work every day for a week.
He says: 'It was explained to me that Shahbaz was a Pakistani gay participant in the television programme Big Brother.
'I was further embarrassed when I learned from internet research that Shahbaz had stated "I'm a wacky poof without a corner shop".
'I further learned that he was a gay Muslim, wanted to be reincarnated as a woman so that he could have children, idolised the 1980s pop star Marilyn, who dressed in women's clothes and wore make-up, and that men were afraid of his flamboyant personality.'
Mr Rajdev says that Civica chiefs took projects away from him and handed them to more junior white colleagues.
He says: 'This was clear favouritism to white staff. I felt isolated and humiliated by these acts.'
Mr Rajdev says that his bosses ignored his complaints and talked him out of resigning several times.

He eventually quit his £42,000-a-year post in November last year.
In legal papers submitted by Civica to the tribunal, it says that Mr Davis was given a final written warning for creating the photo of Mr Rajdev and bin Laden.
It said that two years earlier Mr Rajdev used 'gallows humour' when discussing the issue of terrorism with colleagues.
It said: 'Mr Rajdev had stated that if he were Osama bin Laden he would bomb the London Underground.

'Coincidentally, this then happened in July 2005.
'From that point onward, Mr Rajdev and Mr Davis had joked that Mr Rajdev was the mastermind behind al Qaeda.
'Mr Rajdev had been a party to this banter, even jokingly threatening Mr Davis to be careful when he visited London in case he had planted a bomb.'
It says that at the time Mr Rajdev had regarded the photo as no more than a 'bit of fun' and joined in all the 'office banter'.

Mr Radjev's lawyer Joe Sykes said: 'We say that this was humiliation of an Asian worker which was crude and brutal discrimination and that the company should have held the culprits to account.
'Instead of backing the team leader, they gave his projects to junior team members and allowed the situation to escalate.'
A Civica spokesman said: 'Civica is aware of the court case involving the former employee, which is being resolutely defended.
'Since there are ongoing legal proceedings, we cannot comment until everything is resolved. We are looking forward to a swift resolution of this matter.'

Mr Radjev's case is due to be heard next year.

Two years for hepatitis sex liar

A TURKISH waiter was jailed for two years yesterday for knowingly infecting a woman with deadly Hepatitis B – a crime branded biological GBH by his own lawyer.

Ercan Yasar, 29, knew he carried the virus and had been warned he should always use a condom during sex.
But he did not tell his 27-year-old victim – who thought he was the man of her dreams – about his condition.
Yasar also gave the woman chlamydia but that did not form part of the charge. He admitted causing her grievous bodily harm.

The judge, Recorder Neil Ford QC, told him: “Your act of unprotected sex was an extremely inconsiderate, selfish and dangerous one.
“You satisfied your sexual urges without thought of the danger that you were causing her.”
The court heard the woman fell extremely ill as a result of the hepatitis and spent ten days in hospital.

She has since recovered but will carry the virus – which in chronic cases can cause fatal liver cirrhosis and cancer – for the rest of her life.
Prosecutor Giles Nelson told Gloucester Crown Court “selfish” Yasar learned he had Hepatitis B in 2003. He met his victim at a club in Cheltenham last August and they dated for a few weeks before having sex one Saturday afternoon after a four-hour vodka binge.
Lloyd Jenkins, defending, said Yasar acted in “a moment of madness”. He admitted: “It is biological GBH.”

Recorder Ford, who recommended Yasar be deported after his sentence, told him: “It is the sort of infection one would expect by any standards of decency would be communicated.”
The victim was not in court but housemate Sally Pulham said: “We all thought he might be the one for her – how wrong we were. It has ruined her life.”

7th Century Clothes Make Good 21st Century Getaway Devices...

A woman who fled with her five daughters when she learnt that they could be taken into care disguised them with robes and headscarves to make her getaway.
Natalie Bracht and the girls, aged 5 to 13, have been avoiding the authorities since leaving their home in Sunderland in May.

the High Court gave permission for photographs of the children to be released in the hope that someone will recognise them. The pictures include images from a CCTV camera at King's Cross Station that show the family wearing Muslim-style clothes shortly after they left.
Miss Bracht, who is said to suffer from a “histrionic personality disorder”, moved to Britain from Dusseldorf in 2006. She ran off after a panel of medical experts said that they were concerned for the childrens’ welfare.

Police and social services in Sunderland have issued renewed calls for information about their whereabouts.
The family spent some time in Harlesden, northwest London, before moving to a commune near Yeovil in the West Country, from which they fled after police were alerted. The last confirmed sighting was on a bus from Exeter to the Dartmoor village of Moretonhampstead in July.
Miss Bracht, 35, speaks English with a German accent and is believed to have talked people into helping her by claiming to be the daughter of a Libyan scientist whose life is in danger.
Detective Chief Inspector Ian Bentham, of Northumbria Police, said: "Following the decision at the High Court to allow the identification of Natalie's five daughters, we can today release for the first time these CCTV stills without obscuring the girls' faces.

"They were taken on Saturday, May 17, at 6.20pm, at King's Cross railway station in London.
"In them Natalie is seen wearing a flowing white robe and headscarf, while some of her daughters also seem to be wearing headscarves.
"We don't know how Natalie and the girls are dressed now — they may have altered their appearance several times — however we are asking people to keep an eye open for them."

Random Hammer Attack - Sudden Jihad Syndrome?...

A GROUP of friends were attacked with a hammer after getting into what they thought was a taxi in Oldham.

Between 2.30am and 3.30am on Sunday 2 November 2008, a man, his girlfriend and another woman got into what they believed was a private hire taxi on Yorkshire Street after a night out. The taxi driver took them towards the man's home but at Alt Lane, unexpectedly turned the car around and drove back towards the town centre.

He then stopped the car on Abbeyhills Road where another man pulled up in a car. Both men then got out and dragged the victims out of the car and hit the man a number of times in the head and body with a hammer. Police are now appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

Both men are described as Asian. The first was tall with black wavy hair and the other was of stocky build and wearing a black top or a jacket. Detective Constable Craig Morgan from Oldham CID said: "This was a bizarre set of circumstances that resulted in a group of friends enjoying a night out being savagely assaulted and robbed.

"We are making numerous inquiries to trace the drivers of both cars and I would appeal for the public to help us with our investigation. Did you see anything on Abbeyhills Road at about the time of the attack? "I would urge anyone with information to come forward."

Anyone with information should call Oldham CID on 0161 856 8951 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

UK aid combats radical schooling

Millions of pounds of UK aid are being used to steer students in Pakistan away from radical religious schools and into mainstream education.

British aid to Pakistan has doubled to a record £480m over the next three years as part of the world's Millennium Development Goals to reduce poverty.
Some £250m of that is being used to boost mainstream education, including at religious schools, or madrassas.

A representative for the madrassas said the cash would help modernise teaching.
Although the UK's Pakistan Country Assistance Plan is separate from the two countries' counter-terrorism co-operation, the indirect effect is to steer students away from certain madrassas where they are at risk of being recruited by violent extremists.
'Contemporary subjects'

The chairman of Pakistan's Board of Madrassas, Wakil Khan, said British aid money was needed to pay up to 80,000 teachers working to a contemporary syllabus, as part of an ongoing programme to reform the country's estimated 15,000 madrassas.
He said the reforms were taking place in three stages.
Firstly, all the country's madrassas are being registered, with 9,400 so far officially contacting the government.

Secondly, the syllabus is being nationalised by introducing contemporary subjects.
Thirdly, madrassas are being made part of the mainstream education system. They will use computer hardware and software, with those leaving at the end of their studies eligible for further education.

Many Muslims say madrassas have acquired an undeserved reputation for extremism after it emerged that one of the four London bombers, Shehzad Tanweer, attended one prior to blowing himself and others up in 2005.
Only a small minority of these religious schools are thought to preach a violent intolerance of non-Muslims and Mr Khan said the more radical ones were concentrated in the tribal territories and in Baluchistan in south-west Pakistan.
He also said some of those attending there had finished their studies and were just using the madrassa as a place to live.

He stressed that the vast majority of Pakistan's madrassas were working for a good cause.

Muslim peer charged over death crash

MUSLIM peer Lord Ahmed is to appear in court accused of dangerous driving after he was involved a Christmas Day motorway crash that claimed the life of a 28-year-old driver.

The 51-year-old was allegedly at the wheel of his gold X-Type Jaguar when it was involved in a collision with an Audi A4 that had broken down on the southbound M1, near Rotherham.South Yorkshire Police said last night they had received advice from the Crown Prosecution Service on the case and planned to issue a summons shortly.Yesterday Lord Ahmed, who became the country's first Muslim peer in 1998, was unavailable for comment at his Rotherham home and his solicitor Steve Smith said there would be no reaction.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said a 51-year-old Rotherham man would be issued with a summons to appear at Sheffield Magistrates' Court "in relation to driving his motor car dangerously on the southbound carriageway of the M1 between junctions 40 and 35 on December 25, 2007".The crash victim, Slovakian Martyn Gombar, died instantly in the impact, while the Labour peer – official title Lord Ahmed of Rotherham – suffered severe facial injuries and shock. The dead man lived in the Leigh area of Lancashire.

UK Taxpayers Pay Thousands in Legal Aid to Troop Killers...

Faisal Al-Saadoon and Khalaf Mufdhi are accused of killing Staff Sergeant Simon Cullingworth and Sapper Luke Allsopp in cold blood during the beginning of the Iraq war in 2003.

The British government wants to hand the two Iraqis over to the Iraqi government for trial. But their British lawyer has launched a High Court legal challenge saying such a trial would breach his clients' human rights.

If he succeeds, the men, who are currently in British custody in Iraq, could be brought to the UK to face trial. Senior British Government officials are concerned that the two men will claim political asylum if they are tried in the UK.
The challenge, has angered the dead British soldiers' relatives and opposition politicians.

Patrick Mercer, the Tory MP for Newark and a former infantry commander, said: " It seems totally wrong to me that these men are being given legal aid. Would we have given legal aid to Nazis who committed war crimes in the Second World War – of course not – this is arrant nonsense.

"What the hell is the point of fighting a war to try and establish democracy in a tyranny and then show a complete lack of trust in the new regime by failing to deliver alleged killers for trial? If these men do not stand trial in Iraq it would make a mockery of the blood spilt by British troops in fighting this war."

The murder of SSgt Cullingworth, 36, and Spr Luke Allsopp, 24, both members of 33 Engineer Regiment (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) provoked a storm of outrage in the UK, with Tony Blair claiming that the two men had been executed by the Iraqi Army.

The soldiers were travelling as part of a convoy which was ambushed by Fedayeen militiamen on the outskirts of the town of Al Zubayr in southern Iraq on March 23, 2003.
While half the convoy escaped, SSgt Cullingworth, who was married with two sons, and Spr Allsopp, were taken to a local Ba'ath party headquarters and then to an Iraqi intelligence base, where they were shot dead.

Photographs taken of the soldiers at the compound as they lay dying, surrounded by a baying mob of Iraqis, were later shown on the Arabic TV channel al-Jazeera. The soldiers' graves were discovered a month later and their bodies were exhumed.
The judicial review of the men's case has been launched by the firm Public Immunity Lawyers who have been funded through legal aid.

Phil Shiner, of Public Immunity Lawyers, believes that Mr Saadoon, 56, and Mr Mufdhi, 58, would not get a fair trial in Iraq and could face the death penalty if found guilty. He also believes they would be tortured and abused by other inmates.
Mr Shiner told The Sunday Telegraph that the Iraqi Higher Tribunal, where they would be tried, was a "politicised court" established by the US-led coalition to try senior members of the former Ba'athist regime, and had already ordered the execution of several regime members including Saddam Hussein.

Mr Shiner, who confirmed that the judicial review was being funded by legal aid, will claim that to try the alleged killers in Iraq would be a breach of their human rights under the Article 3 of the European Convention of Human Rights.
He said: "The IHT have a track record of sentencing people to death and we, the UK, have a policy of not handing over people to a jurisdiction if there is a risk of the death penalty being applied."

The Sunday Telegraph understands, however, that senior officials in the Ministry of Defence, the Foreign Office and the Ministry of Justice have been given assurances at the "highest level" that the two accused will receive a fair trial and treatment, whatever the outcome of the case.
It is also understood that one of the families of the British dead have written to the Iraqi court and asked for clemency in the event that the former Iraqi soldiers are found guilty.

Margaret Cullingworth, 83, the mother of Simon Cullingworth, who lives in Ruthin, North Wales, said: "They should be tried and brought to justice in their own country. It was a horrible crime. We could have accepted it if they had been killed in battle but they were prisoners and were murdered.
"We do have confidence in the UK authorities and believe they will do the right thing. Simon's widow has been left to bring up the children on her own and she has found it very hard – we all have."

A spokesman for the MoD said: "The Secretary of State for Defence and the Foreign Secretary have received assurances from the Iraqi Government that Mr Al-Saadoon and Mr Mufdhi will be treated humanely when they are transferred to Iraqi custody. The assurances have been considered and found credible, and they have agreed that the two suspects can be transferred to the Iraqi authorities, provided that the UK courts finds this lawful.

Wife Nearly Killed for Not Answering Phone...

A man who tried to kill his new bride weeks after their wedding in Pakistan has been jailed for seven years at the High Court in Edinburgh.

Muhammed Rashad, 29, strangled, battered and tried to suffocate his cousin, Zahida, at their home in Kings Park, Glasgow, last October.
The attack happened after she had failed to answer the phone.
Rashad was convicted of attempted murder in September. He was told he could be deported after his sentence.

The court heard how Rashad attacked his wife after demanding to know where she was when he tried to phone her.
She told him she had been in the house but had not heard the phone.
Rashad called her stupid before repeatedly punching her, slapping her with his hands and hitting her with a wooden spoon until it broke.
The woman then ran to her father-in-law's room and begged for help.

the court was told that he did nothing while Rashad kicked her and wrapped a mobile phone charger cord around her neck.
Rashid then tried to strangle his wife with his hands and smother her with a pillow.
Jailing him, judge Lord Kingarth, said: "You were found guilty of a prolonged, violent, dangerous and frightening attack on your young wife who was then in a particularly vulnerable position, she having only recently come from Pakistan to live in the United Kingdom.

"This is a matter which this court has to take seriously.
"In all the circumstances I am satisfied that only a substantial custodial sentence is appropriate."
Lord Kingarth said he did not think it appropriate to recommend deporting Rashad because he had lived in the UK for years, had not offended before, and was deemed to be at low-risk of re-offending.
But he said that the Secretary of State had the power to send him back to his native Pakistan after his sentence.

Bomb-proof bins to be installed in London

The steel armour-plated bins have been developed to withstand at least 75 per cent of a blast's force and contain the fireball resulting from an explosion.

When not being blown to bits, they would also provide pedestrians with news and travel information such as the state of shares on the FTSE 100.
Hundreds of them are due to be installed through London's financial district next year after the British company behind them spent five years testing them to destruction in the Mexican desert.
Media Metrica, the British company that has come up with the idea, is also in talks to install them in other global financial centres including New York and Dubai.
Digital screens on the side will relay news, financial and travel information to passers-by throughout the day.

Brian James, the company's chief operating officer, said: "The ability to communicate directly to the financial audience, in real time like this, has never existed before."
Bins were removed from the London Underground in 1991 following an IRA blast in Victoria Station that February which killed one person and injured 38.

Most were removed from the City the following year, and the last few were taken away after a large bomb left in a bin in Bishopsgate killed one man and injured 44 in April 1993.
Environmental groups have blamed the lack of bins for an increasing tide of litter across the country.

However, with each costing £30,000 and weighing roughly a ton, it is unlikely they will be used in anything but the most sensitive locations.

The plastic surround is made from recycled materials and has an LCD screen on which news, weather and sports reports can be shown.
Each unit is big enough to contain a typical household wheelie bin - to make it easy for binmen to collect and empty.

During an emergency such as the 7/7 attacks, the screen's content could be changed within minutes to direct Londoners-away from certain areas or Tube stations.
The bins are the work of entrepreneurs Kaveh Memari and Brian James, who met in Canada and studied at the London School of Economics before setting up a company, Media Metrica.

They plan to offer the bins, which they prefer to call "recycling units", free to London local authorities and recoup the cost via sponsorship from firms keen to emphasise their corporate social responsibility - London currently recycles only 25 per cent of its waste.

QATADA IN 'ATTEMPT TO FLEE COUNTRY'

The 47-year-old will appear before an immigration hearing on Wednesday and could be returned to prison permanently. The Jordanian, who was once described by a judge as "Osama bin Laden's right-hand man in Europe", is accused of trying to flee the country.

UK Border Agency officials allegedly discovered he was planning to escape to the Middle East - despite having his passport taken away. They convened a hearing on Friday and a judge ruled bail should be cancelled. Qatada was arrested the following day. Qatada was released in June after the courts ruled it would breach his human rights if he was deported back to Jordan.

Ministers are appealing against the decision but the Special Immigration Appeals Commission (SIAC) ruled Qatada could be released on bail in the meantime. He is required to wear an electronic tag, stay for 22 hours a day in his west London home, and barred from using the internet or mobile phones. His bail also bans him from associating with known terrorists including bin Laden.SIAC first ruled Qatada could be deported because Britain had signed a "memorandum of understanding" with Amman guaranteeing he would not be tortured, but the Court of Appeal overturned the ruling.

Qatada was first arrested in 2001 by anti-terrorism police. He was carrying £170,000 in cash, including £805 in an envelope marked "For the mujahedin in Chechnya". He has been convicted of terrorism offences in Jordan in his absence.

Radical cleric Abu Qatada is considering leaving the UK if he can find a country to take him, an immigration tribunal has heard.

Saudis buy Britain

Here is the incomparable Melanie Phillips's blistering commentary on this story: "Beware this Saudi deal to help bail out Britain. It comes with a devastating IOU," in the Daily Mail,

With all eyes fixed upon the political excitements in the U.S, few have paid much attention to a trip made by the Prime Minister several thousand miles in the opposite direction.
A week ago Gordon Brown, accompanied by his new best friend the Business Secretary Lord Mandelson, went cap in hand to Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states to ask them to help bail out the stricken economies of the West by pumping billions into theInternational Monetary Fund.

It is more than a little strange that the British Prime Minister should have apparently taken it upon himself to speak on behalf of the IMF. But the real concern is that asking for help from Saudi Arabia is not like tapping your friendly neighbourhood bank manager for a bigger overdraft.
No, this loan comes with a devastating IOU — nothing less than a big slice of control over Britain and the West by a regime at the heart of the attempt to bring about the Islamisation of the free world.
Granted, this country is facing a truly grave financial crisis. But does this mean we should remortgage the future of the West to those whose most radical elements are actively engaged in seeing it destroyed?

Saudi Arabia is at the root of the Islamic onslaught against the West. It is Saudi’s Wahhabi form of Islam which, along with its Shi’ite counterpart in Iran, aims to restore the dominance of Islam in the world and destroy rule by ‘unbelievers’. [...]
Apparently oblivious to all this, however, Mr Brown has pledged to make London the global centre of Islamic banking. Accordingly, Britain’s major banks are eagerly embracing sharia finance, on the basis that it is a source of vast wealth. [...]
But apart from being a global money-laundering exercise for terrorism, sharia banking is also a beachhead in the attempt by radical Islam to infiltrate British and Western society.
'Seductive'

The key point is that sharia does not recognise the superior authority of the secular law of the land.
Moreover, the British establishment does not believe that what we are being subjectedto is a religious war. That is why their response to the steady encroachment of Islamic radicalism in our society is so weak.
And that is why I fear the British Prime Minister is in danger of selling this country to those who are intent upon undermining our most treasured freedoms....

Political correctness "hampering battle against extremism" in UK

Attempts to turn young people away from Islamic extremism are being hampered by politically-correct language, according to a new report.

Ministers last year directed councils to use the terms "anti-Islamic activity" and "community resilience" instead of terrorism and extremism, as part of a drive to win over the Muslim community.

But the rebranding has spread confusion and is preventing local authorities and public bodies from talking openly about the radicalisation of young people.
A report for the Home Office and Department for Communities and Local Government found that public services were not communicating policies "for fear that using more direct language may exacerbate community tensions."

It quoted an unnamed council director as saying: "Switching language from 'extremism' to 'community resilience' causes confusion.
"The key thing is about who the words come from – if they come from a respected religious or community member they will have more impact than if it comes from a government minister."
A council chief executive interviewed in the report said: "People are worried about saying the wrong thing and being labelled as racist."

The Audit Commission and Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) report urged the Government to consult local leaders before issuing further directions about how anti-extremism policies should to be communicated.
The report also found that councils and police given more than £6 million to stop young people turning to violent extremism "lacked intelligence" about where to focus resources.
Some 70 councils in England will receive a further £45 million by 2011 as part of the "Prevent" agenda.

The programme is aimed at encouraging Muslims to identify themselves as part of British society, reject extremist ideology and activities, and encourage others to do the same.
The report, Preventing Violent Extremism: Learning And Development, found some police and local authority partnerships "lacked knowledge" about how Prevent schemes should work, and had no means of measuring success or failure.

The Department of Communities said new instructions have been issued to local authorities on improving terror prevention.

Man jailed for sick dog baiting

CRUEL Liaquat Ali was locked up yesterday for keeping a secret pitbull fighting den and baiting the beasts to savage each other.

It was the first case of its kind to be brought by the RSPCA under the Animal Welfare Act 2006 – and officials pledged to wipe out the horrific practice.

RSPCA chief inspector Ian Briggs, of the Special Operations Unit, said: “We can only imagine how many dogs have suffered at the hands of Mr Ali and his friends, and the kind of things they’ve had to endure at a premise kept by him for that very purpose.
“We’ve never brought a prosecution on these specific allegations before under the new legislation, but the evidence against Mr Ali was overwhelming.
Suffered
“This is a landmark case and we’re very pleased with the magistrate’s ruling.”
Ali, 40, was jailed for six months and banned from keeping an animal for the rest of his life.
He was caught by police and the RSPCA who identified him as the kingpin of pitbull fighting in Accrington, Lancs.
Prosecutor Chris Wyatt told the town’s JPs that three homes Ali used were raided and shocked officers found blood on the walls – believed to be from a fatal dog fight.

They also found Ali’s pitbull dog called Enzo, starved and locked in a white cupboard left out in the back garden.
Mr Wyatt said: “Inside this bolted-shut box was Enzo. There were no windows or holes for ventilation.
“The bedding was very wet and smelled of urine. The bowl inside was empty. It’s spine was visible and he was emaciated.”
On jobless Ali’s phone were two video clips of dog fights, one showing him baiting his animal to attack another pitbull in the street.

‘ It was clear these two Asian men were very high up in the pyramid of organised dog fighting ’
Two further beasts, American pitbulls called Snoop and Spike, were taken off him in March this year – although he denied that Spike was his.
Mr Wyatt added: “It was pretty clear that Spike was a fighting dog.”
Peter King, defending, said his client still denies ever owning a pitbull fighting den – instead claiming he met two mystery Asian men who asked to borrow his premises to stage fights.
Mr King said: “It was clear these two Asian men were very high up in the pyramid of organised dog fighting.

“My client had no involvement in that unlawful fraternity before they got their hooks into him.
Ali denied keeping premises for the use of animal fighting and causing an animal fight to take place – but was convicted by JPs.
He earlier admitted possessing two dangerous dogs, Snoop and Spike, confining an animal in unsuitable accommodation and causing unnecessary suffering to Enzo.
The court heard Ali had previous criminal convictions for “unrelated matters”.
RSPCA chief inspector Briggs added: “The RSPCA and police will stop at nothing to bring those involved in dog fighting before the courts.

“We continue to appeal to the public to contact us with any specific information they may have, their help is crucial in stamping this out.”
PC Duncan Thomas, Wildlife Officer for Lancashire Constabulary, said: “Unfortunately, dog fighting is a so called “sport” which is still pursued in the North of England.
“We hope this conviction will send a clear message to those involved that they will be prosecuted.”

Sicko Liaquat Ali was locked up for six months and banned from keeping an animal for life in a landmark RSPCA case.

Muslim Twins Milk London Company for Tens of Millions...

MUSLIM twin sisters have won a record multi-million pound payout on the eve of a sensational tribunal involving claims of racism and drug abuse in the City.

Moroccan-born Samira and Hanan Fariad, 31, made more than 200 allegations against brokers Tradition Securities and Futures in a 150-page dossier due to be unveiled out at the Central London Employment Tribunal this week. They included claims the French company stood by as top brokers used cocaine and subjected them to race and religious discrimination.

In one case, the firm allegedly transferred the sisters’ Jewish clients to non-Muslim colleagues. The pair – who were on six-figure salaries - worked as brokers in the company’s London office for two years until they resigned in 2006.They were due to begin giving evidence this week. But last night the case was halted when the twins agreed to accept an out-of-court settlement believed to total £10m.A spokesman for the sisters said: “The parties are pleased to confirm that the matter has now been settled on confidential terms.”Tradition Securities and Futures refused to comment last night but the firm had previously denied the allegations.

Muslim man strangles, stabs, and slits throat of "petite" 19 year-old Catholic girl

A TEENAGER was brutally murdered by her boyfriend's Muslim flatmate because he did not approve of him going out with a Catholic.

Lidia Motylska, 19, was strangled in an alleyway in Leeds by Iraqi immigrant Abobakir Jabari who objected to his Kurdish flatmate's relationship with her.
Yesterday Jabari, 39, who was given British citizenship in 2005, pleaded guilty at Sheffield Crown Court to murdering the petite Polish teenager.

The court heard he garrotted her from behind, using the cord from his tracksuit bottoms, before inflicting "gratuitous" wounds on her lifeless body. He stabbed her repeatedly in the chest and stomach and slit her throat.
Sentencing Jabari to life imprisonment with a minimum tariff of 19-and-a-half years, Mr Justice McKinnon said the murder involved an exceptional degree of violence.

"There is a suspicion that you lured this young woman to her death and marked your disapproval of her and her relationship by gratuitous violence upon her," he said.
The court heard that Jabari grew up in Iraq and was conscripted to the Iraqi army but then deserted. He became involved with the Communist party and later helped opponents of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein's regime flee to Syria.

He came to England in 1999 with his then wife, but they separated in 2003 and he went on to gain British citizenship.

In July 2004 he began working at Symphony Kitchens in Gelderd Lane, Leeds.
Through his work, he met both Miss Motylska and Ajeen Jabaridia, a fellow Kurdish Iraqi who moved in with him at a flat in Oatland Heights in the Little London area of the city.
But he was to become increasingly hostile when the pair became romantically involved.
Prosecuting, Simon Myerson QC said: "He disliked the fact that his Kurdish friend was going out with a Polish Catholic.

"He did not like Lidia to sleep at their flat. He disapproved of Lidia's behaviour in public and thought it seemed sexually provocative."
He went on: "He told her that Ajeen should not be seeing her because she was a Polish and Catholic girl."
Miss Motylska, who lived with her mother Renata in Beeston, Leeds, thought she might be pregnant with Mr Jabaridia's child, the court heard, though this turned out not to be the case.
On the evening of the murder in October last year, she had arranged to meet Jabari and got off a bus near his home at 6.45pm.

Ten minutes later, two passers-by called 999, reporting that they had seen a woman on the ground in an alleyway in Lincoln Green, with a man sitting over her "grunting" and holding her around the neck.
When police arrived at 7pm, the teenager was dead, with deep stab wounds and her throat slit "from ear to ear".
The judge said one explanation for the slash injuries to her abdomen could have been an "expression of disapproval at her pregnancy and her relationship".

Immediately after the attack, Jabari set about creating an alibi by inviting friends to his flat to watch Arsenal play Slavia Prague in a Champions League football match.
A keen Arsenal fan, Mr Jabaridia had tried to telephone his girlfriend each time the team scored, but got no reply.
He and Miss Motylska's mother reported the teenager missing the next day.
After the sentencing, Det Supt Bill Shackleton from West Yorkshire Police said: "This was a brutal and calculated murder."

The victim's family were too upset to speak.

Also, she, a non-Muslim -- Catholic no less -- was dating his Muslim roommate. "Muslim killed Catholic girl in love with flatmate," by Jeni Harvey for the Yorkshire Post,

Mad Ron: Ban word British, it's offensive

DISGRACED ex-minister Ron Davies has had another mad moment — urging a council to scrap the term ‘British’.

He told staff the word upsets people from Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Asia and China.
Married Davies, 62, now an independent on Caerphilly Council, has drawn up guidelines which say “many Scots, Welsh and Irish resist being called British”.
The leaflet also claims “the idea of British implies a false sense of unity”.
Davis quit Labour’s Cabinet in 1998 after being mugged at a London gay haunt and blamed a “moment of madness”.

But Wales rugby legend Gareth Edwards said: “I’m proud to be Welsh. But I’m also British and proud to have played for the British Lions.”

The council said the pamphlet was for guidance and “not an instruction to staff”.

Jihadists flout UK's hate speech laws

JUST days after Home Secretary Jacqui Smith announced tough new measures to name and shame foreign-based extremists and prevent them coming from abroad to stir up hatred in the UK, firebrand preacher Sheikh Omar Bakri Muhammad cocked a snook at her new initiative.

More than 200 Muslims at a packed public meeting in Tower Hamlets were told by organiser Anjem Choudary: "We have a special surprise, a special treat for you. Sheikh Omar Bakri Muhammad will be joining us on a live feed from Lebanon." He added: "As Muslims, we will not submit to any man-made law, any government, or any prime minister - Bush or Brown - or [to] Jacqui Smith. We submit to Allah."

Choudary, who with Bakri led the fanatical Al-Muhajiroun organisation - notorious for its glorification of terrorism and the 9/11 attacks before its banning and dissolution in 2004 -warmed up the crowd, two Sundays ago, with his own inflammatory rhetoric.
"It is our religious obligation to prepare ourselves both physically and mentally and rise up against Muslim oppression and take what is rightfully ours," he said. "Jihad is a duty and a struggle and an obligation that lies upon the shoulders of us all. We will not rest until the flag of Allah and the flag of Islam is raised above 10 Downing Street."

To loud cheers of "Allah Akbar" [God is great], he railed: "There are three types of Muslims, those in prison, those of us that are on our way [to prison] and non-practising Muslims. Brothers and sisters, if you do not fear your home being raided by the Kufar [non-believer] police, you are not enforcing the Sharia."

Later, in front of a huge banner that exhorted "Muslims rise against British oppression", he introduced the star turn, 50-year-old Omar Bakri, who was standing by in Lebanon. A giant screen, six-feet high and six-feet wide, had been set up to project the image of the extremist known as "the Tottenham Ayatollah". He was refused re-entry to the UK in 2005 as "not conducive to the public good" after vowing that Muslims would "give the West a 9/11 day after day after day"....

Apart from a group of elders with long groomed white beards sitting in the front row, most of the 200 men in attendance were Muslims in their late teens or early 20s, mostly dressed in shalwar kameez with westernised accessories - trainers, hoodies and jackets. At the back of the hall, segregated by partitions, were more than 50 women wearing burkhas.

"Do not obey the British law," Bakri told them. He praised his hero Osama bin Laden for being a warrior and exclaimed: "We must fight and die for Islam - this is the map and road to Jennah [heaven]." He said that Muslims did not need to obey man-made laws and that if anyone ordered them to, they should say they are Muslims "loud and proud". He branded the new anti-extremist laws "crazy".
Indeed, it is the new rules, announced two weeks ago by Jacqui Smith, that are meant to prevent "preachers of hate from spreading extremism in our communities". Yet here was Bakri doing just that, potentially grooming the next batch of homegrown suicide bombers. And there was not a uniformed police officer in sight.

The four-hour meeting, organised by Choudary using a website called Islam For The UK, took place right under the noses of Tower Hamlets council in a community arts centre the council rents out at £78 an hour. But neither the council nor the police nor the Home Office appeared to realise that Bakri had broadcast live into the heart of London.
Were the organisers - and perhaps Tower Hamlets council - in breach of the law for allowing Bakri to speak?

Nobody seemed to know. A Home Office spokeswoman said: "This appears to be something that the new measures, which only prevent individuals from coming here and spreading their hate in person, do not cover."
Later, in a prepared statement, the Home Office said: "The UK is determined to stop those who spread extremism through preaching violent messages in our communities, but it is for the police and the Crown Prosecution Service to investigate any breach of the law."
When told of this, a Metropolitan Police spokesman was nonplussed. "It's the Home Office that makes the laws," he said. "If it doesn't know whether something is against the law, then who does?"...

The event, billed as a conference to "rise to defend the honour of the Muslims", had been advertised on several extremist websites with links to the Islam For The UK website, which calls for Sharia law to be introduced into Britain. Beyond a kiosk selling home-made curry and Coca-Cola for £3 and a table where Islamic DVDs were for sale at £2 a copy, was a main hall where the audience prayed in Arabic before the meeting got under way.

Besides Bakri, there were three other speakers: Abu Muaz, head of the UK Salafi Youth Movement; Abu Yahya, spokesman for the Followers of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama'aah, and Abu Rumaysah, a student at the London School of Shari'ah.
Each spoke for 40 minutes, their talks interspersed with video clips from Iraq, Afghanistan and Guantanamo that were designed to fuel the meeting's "grievance theme" of Muslims being oppressed by Britain and the West. As an example of this oppression, one speaker said: "In the UK, terrorists get 40 years in prison whereas murderers and paedophiles walk free after five years."

Abu Muaz spoke out against UK imams, claiming they are too soft and tolerant. He said that "speech was not enough" and that it was time to "take action". "You must destroy the West," he declared.
But the most provocative was student leader Abu Rumaysah, who spoke to the crowd as if they were trainee terrorists. "Delete unnecessary material from your computers, take precautions not to attract attention to yourself and prepare your family for [police] raids," he said. He added that they should support the families of Muslims who were arrested and that Islam will only take over the UK if Muslims are proactive and enforce Sharia law in their own communities.
"Women need to be covered up, men lashed for fornication [outside marriage] and hands cut off for theft and breaking Sharia law," he said.

When a woman in a burkha asked how he could justify this when Islam was supposed to be a religion of peace, the crowd mocked her. But it was Choudary who rose to put her in her place. "Islam is not a religion of peace," he said. "It is a religion of submission. We need to submit to the will of Allah."

Later the Standard asked Choudary whether telling young British Muslims to "rise up" was inciting them to violence? He laughed. "By 'rise up' I mean rise up and air your views," he said. It was classic Choudary double-speak. His audience clearly gets his intent. But with the Home Office undecided about such gatherings, he seems to know exactly how far he can go and still get away with it.

Muslim medic in UK: Muslim men "think they have God-given right to beat wives"

Fatima Husain, a consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology, has told how she sees Muslim women coming for treatment with strangle marks around their necks and bruises on their pregnant bumps.

She also claimed that problems develop because many followers of Islam are fearful of discussing sex, contraception and infertility.
Dr Husain, who works at Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospitals in Berkshire, told the Muslim News that many women ask to be referred to her specialist clinics because she is a hijab-wearing Muslim, allowing her to discover the true scale of domestic violence in her religious community.

She said: "I've seen injuries on some of my patients that I wouldn't dream would happen to pregnant women.
"I've seen strangle marks, finger marks on their necks and bruises on their pregnant abdomens.
"Domestic violence is supposedly equally divided amongst the various groups but I get the impression it is more common in Muslims.

"Some Muslim men think they have a God-given right to be physically violent to their spouses. I see the result of all this when they are admitted as my patients."...

Gee, where could they have gotten that idea? The Telegraph, of course, gives no hint as to the answer to that question. Could it have something to do with this?

"Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them." -- Qur'an 4:34

Tabari IX:113
"Allah permits you to shut them in separate rooms and to beat them, but not severely. If they abstain, they have the right to food and clothing. Treat women well for they are like domestic animals and they possess nothing themselves. Allah has made the enjoyment of their bodies lawful in his Qur'an."
