Muslim Lord cows House of Lords into submission for daring to want to invite Geert Wilders

A member of the Lords intended to invite her colleagues to a private meeting in a conference room in the House of Lords to meet the Dutch politician Geert Wilders, an elected member of the Dutch parliament, to watch his controversial movie Fitna and discuss the movie and Mr. Wilders’ opinions with him.

Barely had the invitation been sent to all the members of the House when Lord Ahmed raised hell. He threatened to mobilize 10,000 Muslims to prevent Mr. Wilders from entering the House and threatened to take the colleague who was organizing the event to court.

The result is that the event, which should have taken place next Thursday was cancelled.
Lord Ahmed immediately went to the Pakistani press to boast about his achievement, which he calls “a victory for the Muslim community.”

A victory for the Muslim community, but a defeat for British democracy where topics to which Muslims object cannot even be debated. That, apparently, is what one gets when one accepts Muslims into the House of Lords.

Lord Ahmed is considered to be a “moderate” Muslim. The Pakistani born Nazir Ahmed became the United Kingdom’s first Muslim life peer in 1998. He is a member of the Labour Party and was appointed to the Lords by Tony Blair. Lord Ahmed took his oath on the Koran.

He led one of the first delegations on behalf of the British Government on the Muslim pilgrimage of the Hajj, to Saudi Arabia. In February 2005, Lord Ahmed hosted a book launch in the House of Lords for anti-Zionist author Israel Shamir. In 2007, he responded to the award of a knighthood to Salman Rushdie by stating that he was appalled, saying that Rushdie had “blood on his hands.”

Lord Ahmed was among the founders of The World Forum, an organization set up “to promote world peace in the aftermath of 9/11 with an effort to build bridges of understanding between The Muslim World and the West by reviving a tradition of Dialogue between people, cultures and civilizations based on tolerance.”

What does “dialogue” mean to those who make discussion about controversial issues impossible? Thank you, Mr. Blair, for bringing “diversity” to the House of Lords.

More on this story.

Lord Nazir Ahmed, was responsible for the British Parliament's dhimmi cancellation of a showing of Geert Wilders' film Fitna. He called the cancellation "a victory for the Muslim community.” And Brian of London has more:

Nail-bomber given life sentence

A Muslim convert has been jailed for life and must serve a minimum of 18 years after launching a failed suicide bomb attack on a restaurant in Devon.

Nicky Reilly, 22, was the only person injured when he accidentally set off his home-made nail-bomb in a toilet of Exeter's Giraffe restaurant last May.
He later admitted attempted murder and preparing an act of terrorism.

Police believe the Plymouth man, who has learning difficulties, was encouraged by extremists in Pakistan.
Officers are in contact with authorities in the country via the British Embassy in a bid to trace those who contacted him, Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed.

Sentencing him at the Old Bailey, Mr Justice Calvert-Smith said it was "sheer luck or chance that [the bombing] did not succeed in its objectives".
"The offence of attempted murder is aggravated by the fact that it was long-planned, that it had multiple intended victims and was intended to terrorise the population of this country," he added.

Reilly had been preparing to detonate three bombs, created using glass bottles and containing about 500 nails, caustic soda and kerosene, when one exploded in his hands.
Dozens of customers and staff fled the restaurant in panic, but no-one else was injured.
Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said: "This case demonstrates that the threat to the UK from violent extremists remains real and serious.
"We need to work together to prevent people, especially young people, getting drawn into illegal activities."

Reilly - who converted to Islam between 2002 and 2003 - had admitted the charges last October, but sentencing was delayed to allow doctors to assess his mental state.
He has learning difficulties and Asperger's Syndrome, struggled to make friends and is thought to have a mental age of 10.

Friday's hearing was briefly adjourned earlier as Reilly's mother Kim broke down in tears in the public gallery.
The court was told she had first taken her son to see a psychiatrist at the age of nine, reporting obsessive behaviour and temper tantrums. He felt rejected by his father and later began to self-harm, taking an overdose at the age of 16.

Reilly came from a "loving and fairly normal family unit" but was "seduced" by a cause he "wrongly and almost fatally interpreted and probably never understood", said the judge.
While accepting the attack was "unsophisticated", he added: "There is no dispute but that this defendant currently represents a significant risk of serious harm to the public."

But he added: "Unfortunately those who attempt to commit suicide and in doing so murder other people are almost invariably unsophisticated in many aspects.
"That lack of sophistication saved many Londoners [in a series of failed bomb attacks] on 21 July 2005."

Devon and Cornwall Police initially said Reilly - who had changed his name to Mohammad Rashid Saeed Alim - had been "preyed on, radicalised and taken advantage of".
However, after Friday's hearing, the force's Assistant Chief Constable Debbie Simpson said that while he was "encouraged" by literature and individuals via the internet, Reilly was "self-radicalised".

"He acted alone, he clearly had vulnerabilities around Asperger's Syndrome but we would say he was not radicalised and acted under his own steam.
"We believe there is an association in Pakistan. It remains a live investigation and we are not in a position to confirm the details," she added.

Officers have already travelled to Pakistan in search of two unidentified people who contacted Reilly via an extremist website. The investigation has involved some 500 police staff.
Before sentencing, Kim Reilly told BBC News that her son was "very remorseful".
"He's sorry to the people of Exeter and those in the cafe that day."

Prior to his failed suicide bombing, Reilly left a note saying: "I have not been brainwashed or indoctrinated. I am not insane."
Reilly claimed he was simply doing "what God wants from his mujahideen".
"Everywhere Muslims are suffering at the hands of Britain, Israel and America. We are sick of taking all the brutality from you," he wrote.
The note attacked drunkenness and sexual immorality as "unacceptable to Allah and the true religion Islam".

Defence barrister Kerim Fuad described his client as the least sophisticated person to have been charged with terrorism.

good news

ANTI-terror chiefs were jubilant last night as Britain slapped a ban on any more Guantanamo Bay inmates being sent here.

Foreign Secretary David Miliband slammed the door shut as two more head our way to join the 13 from the US detention camp already in the UK.

He said as new US President Barack Obama prepares to shut the former Camp X-Ray: “We feel that is already a significant contribution.”

MI5 and Special Branch had faced a security nightmare if more of the terror suspects arrived. Top brass had warned they could not keep tabs on the ex-inmates since they had never been charged with any offence.

President Obama — who has made the closure of Guantanamo Bay a priority — had counted on Britain and other EU states to take more. But Mr Miliband last night hung out the “closed” sign — insisting to EU counterparts in Brussels the UK had met its obligations and was full.

He told his fellow foreign ministers: “We’re happy to offer our experience to other European countries, as they think about what steps they want to make to help in the closure of Guantanamo Bay.”

Kirklees cops taught 'Islam awareness'

POLICE patrolling in Huddersfield will all learn more about Islam in a pioneering project.

All Neighbourhood Policing Team officers in Kirklees will go on an Islam Awareness Programme, which is believed to be the first of its kind in the UK.
This means frontline constables and police community support officers (PCSOs) will go to a series of six sessions at four mosques.

The aim is to increase their understanding of the Islamic faith as well as forging local contacts.
The first session will be at the Jamia Mosque on Jeremy Lane in Heckmondwike next Tuesday.

Kirklees police diversity manager Steve Bedford said: “The day will be an informal introduction to some local mosques and the Islamic faith.
“It is not intended to be a full insight into Islam.
“The day is structured to provide an opportunity to learn basic greetings and an understanding of some of the issues which staff may face.

“They will learn how to identify particular issues and prevent any misunderstandings or insensitivity through lack of awareness or understanding.”
Chief Insp Ian Gayles, who oversees Neighbourhood Policing Teams in Kirklees, said: “If we are able to provide our officers with a better knowledge of a particular faith then it will no doubt reflect on the service we provide the public.

“We have already given officers similar training on a much smaller scale last year. That proved very successful and received some positive feedback.’
“It is hoped that similar arrangements will be made available at other faith centres, including Christian churches and Sikh and Hindu temples.’’

Mohammed Khalil, speaking on behalf of the four mosques, said: “The mosques have seen a lot of goodwill and a genuine desire on the part of the police to work in partnership with local Muslim faith communities, with the aim of helping us to strengthen community cohesion in our neighbourhoods.

“A visit to a place of worship like a mosque leaves an impact. It helps dispel many myths. Such a visit also does wonders in raising a better understanding and an awareness of the Islamic faith.”
The other mosques taking part are the Hanfia at Bentley Street, Lockwood; the Mahaddis-E-Azam Mission at Ravenshouse Road, Dewsbury Moor; and the Gulzar-E-Medina Mosque at High Street, Westtown.

Muslims in religious parade

A traditional Muslim ceremony in which participants whipped themselves on the back took to a street in Bradford city centre today.

Members of Bradford’s Shia Muslim community gathered for a public ceremony to mark the holy day of Ashura, the tenth day of the Muslim new year.

Several men stripped topless to depict the sufferings of their martyrs. The ceremony remembers Hussain, the grandson of Muhammad, who like most of the Prophet’s family, died a martyr. Further commemorations continued into the evening at the Hussainia Islamic Mission in All Saints Road.

AL QAEDA KILLER MAKES VEILS JIBE FROM PRISON CELL

A MURDERING Al Qaeda terrorist has sparked outrage after threatening legal action under the Human Rights Act unless women prison wardens in his presence wear veils.

Kamel Bourgass, 33, was jailed for life in 2004 after stabbing brave Special Branch officer Stephen Oake to death in a police raid. Now Bourgass is not only recruiting extremists to his twisted cause in Wakefield prison but is claiming that women wardens without veils infringe his human rights

He has even cracked sick jokes about the bravery medal DC Oake received posthumously, sneering that it was made from the “metal of my knife”.The Algerian had been preparing a deadly ricin poison attack on Bri tain when father-of-three Detective Constable Oake, 40, arrested him.Bourgass, the first Muslim fanatic to murder a British police officer, has been in Wakefield jail for just a few weeks. But insiders claim he has already begun preaching Islamist hate against the West to inmates. And wearing his long black cloak, he has infuriated wardens with the sick jibe about DC Oake.A prison insider revealed: “He is very abusive and confrontational with staff and says female officers in prayer meetings are a breach of his human rights.“

If they are on duty, he demands they wear a veil.“We’ve been told to closely monitor him because he preaches hatred at prayer meetings.”Yesterday Tory MP Philip Davies, said: “This is disgraceful. This man is a killer in prison for murdering a brave police officer who was defending the public from a deadly attack – yet he is moaning about his human rights?”And MP David Davies, who is also a police Special Constable, said: “It is an insult to a gallant and brave detective.”

At the time of the raid in Crumpsall, Greater Manchester, in 2003, dangerous Bourgass was plotting a terrifying mass poisoning of London Tube passengers.Tragically DC Oake was not wearing a stab-proof jacket and was knifed eight times by Bourgass who had managed to free himself inside the flat. He also stabbed three other officers.

Earlier this month the Daily Express revealed how DC Oake was posthumously awarded the Queen’s Gallantry Medal for bravery after dying trying to stop Bourgass knifing his colleagues. The terrorist was jailed for a minimum of 22 years for murder and 17 for the poison plot.Evidence in the Algerian’s London flat linked him to Osama Bin Laden and Abu Musab Al Zarqawi – the late terror leader who beheaded Liverpudlian hostage Ken Bigley in Iraq in 2004.The source added: “When there was a TV report of DC Oake’s posthumous Queen’s Gallantry Medal, Bourgass was openly mocking him and made a sneering jibe about the medal being made from the metal from his knife.“

Staff reported him to security. It sickened everyone present.”Bourgass has also boasted that he already has two “disciples” in prison and is urging other inmates to follow. This is not the first insult to the brave officer who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend his police colleagues. A Police Memorial Trust’s stone, engraved with a simple message “Here fell DC Stephen Oake, 14 January 2003”, was smashed by yobs in 2007.

It was later repaired.DC Oake’s widow Lesley, who has three children, Christopher, Rebecca and Corinne, has since remarried and last night was unavailable for comment. But a fortnight ago she broke her silence from her home in Poynton, Cheshire, to speak of her pride at Stephen’s medal. She said: “Both myself and the children and indeed, the wider family, are delighted to learn of the news that our much-loved ‘Steve’ has been honoured in this way.“Steve’s actions on that fateful day in January 2003 were typical of a man who was committed to his job and to his colleagues.“We are extremely proud that his sacrificial act of bravery has resulted in this prestigious award.”

Immigrant Rapes British Girl to Get English Lessons in Jail...

Romanian immigrant brutally raped a young woman on a railway station so he could be sent to prison for a bed, food and English lessons at the same jail as his brother.

Ali Majlat, who has a string of convictions in his home country and the UK, punched, kicked and dragged his 21-year-old victim along the ground as she waited for a train home after seeing friends.

She briefly escaped his clutches but he caught up with her in an underpass at Wakefield Kirkgate station in West Yorkshire and subjected her to a sustained attack which was captured on CCTV.
He then stole her mobile phone, purse and a bracelet before fleeing. When he was caught five days later he admitted his guilt and claimed he did it so he would end up in jail.
‘When I was on the railway station I thought I should rape this lady in order to get a place to eat and sleep and learn the English language,’ he told a psychologist.

His bizarre explanation for the attack emerged at Leeds Crown Court on Monday when Majlat pleaded guilty to rape and robbery.
On hearing it, Judge Alistair McCallum was so surprised that he asked the defence barrister to repeat it to be sure he had heard correctly.
Hours before the attack Majlat had tried to visit his brother in Wakefield prison where he is serving a jail term for rape and attempted murder. However, he was turned away because he did not have the correct paperwork.
The 35-year-old later told police that he attacked the girl in the hope he would be sent to the same prison as his brother.

‘All he seems concerned about is being in the same jail as his brother,’ a police source said. ‘When he was told that he would be deported after his sentence, he seemed horrified.
‘He doesn’t want to go back to Romania. He just wants to stay in a British jail.’
Majlat, who is on remand in Leeds prison, entered the UK shortly after being released from a Romanian jail last June after serving time for theft and attempted robbery.

In September he was jailed for eight weeks by Horseferry Road magistrates in London for burglary. But he was not deported after being freed because he was not deemed ‘high risk’.
Convicts from the European Economic Area - members of the EU, plus Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland - can be removed only if they are highly likely to reoffend and if they present a ‘sufficiently serious threat’.

During the case, Judge McCallum demanded to know what procedures there were to stop criminals entering the country. EU citizens with a valid passport can travel to Britain without prior warning.
Even in cases where officials are aware of serious convictions, visitors cannot automatically be turned away.
After raping his victim at 8.30pm on October 12 last year, Majlat fled to London. But police were able to track him down to a homeless hostel because he was still using his victim’s mobile phone.

He was closely examined by doctors and psychologists, who insisted he was sane. During the court hearing, Judge McCallum said he was considering imposing a life sentence.
He asked the Crown Prosecution Service to investigate Majlat’s criminal history in Romania, particularly sexual offences, before he sentences him on April 6.
After the hearing, Detective Superintendent Dave Shipperlee, of British Transport Police, said: ‘This was a violent and sustained attack on a young woman who must have been absolutely terrified.’

Last month the Tories revealed that an estimated 3,000 foreign criminals were released without being deported last year.

Muslims Brutally Assault Local Man, then Toss Him in River

A MAN was set upon by two Asian men in a race attack.

They hit the 19-year-old in the face with a stone and jumped up and down on him as he lay on the floor.

He was then thrown over a wall on Water Street into the river and racially abused. Two men, aged 25 and 24, were arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated wounding.

British Parliament caves to Muslim demands, calls off screening of Fitna

Now if only they could call off jihad attacks by the Muslims who read the same Qur'an verses that are quoted in Fitna, and who act upon them in the way that Fitna depicts.

Craven Cringing Shameful Dhimmitude Alert: "British Parliament calls off screening of controversial film," from APP,

‑The British Parliament has cancelled the showing of a controversial film “Fitna” by the right‑win Dutch MP Geert Wilders following vociferous protest by the Muslim community.
The screening was to take place on January 29 at the House of Lords.

The decision to cancel the showing was taken on Friday when Lord Nazir Ahmed had a meeting with the Government Chief Whip of the House of Lords and Leader of the House of Lords, together with representatives from the Muslim Council of Britain, British Muslim Forum and other representatives from the British Muslim community.

The film has created huge controversy around the world, especially in Europe. The decision by the Amsterdam Appeals Court, the second‑highest legal authority in the country, overturns an earlier ruling by the Dutch Prosecution Service, which last June dismissed hundreds of complaints against Wilders on the grounds that his utterances had been made “in the context of public debate”, a position that was endorsed by the Dutch Prime Minister, Jan Peter Balkenende, a Christian Democrat.

the appeals court argued that the criminal prosecution did not conflict with Wilders’ right to freedom of expression and said it based its decision on the standards set by the European Court of Human Rights.
The Far‑right Dutch politician will now be put on trial for his public statements against Islam. As a result of the meeting at the House of Lords not going ahead, all protests and demonstrations have now been cancelled Lord Ahmed termed the decision as “a victory for the Muslim community.”

Indeed it is, but it is a defeat for all those who want to resist jihad and Islamization.

Melanie Phillips: London's reaction to the Gaza war shows it is giving up against jihad

The chickens...are coming home...to roost: "Years of demonizing Israel and appeasing Islamist extremism within Britain have now coalesced, as a result of the media misrepresentation of the Gaza war as an atrocity against civilians, in an unprecedented wave of hatred against Israel and a sharp rise in attacks on British Jews."

In Britain, the war in Gaza has revealed the extent to which the media, intelligentsia and political class have simply crumbled in the face of the global jihad.

The U.K. is a major player in European and world politics and is America's most significant strategic ally. Until now, it has been considered one of Israel's firm supporters and a linchpin of the Western defense against the world-wide Islamist onslaught. With the reaction to Gaza, however, that reputation is no longer sustainable.

Years of demonizing Israel and appeasing Islamist extremism within Britain have now coalesced, as a result of the media misrepresentation of the Gaza war as an atrocity against civilians, in an unprecedented wave of hatred against Israel and a sharp rise in attacks on British Jews.
Throughout the war, London's streets have witnessed a hallucinatory level of violent and explicit support for Hamas from Muslims, members of the far left and supposedly progressive individuals.

Night after night, Israel's embassy in well-to-do Kensington found itself under violent siege. Demonstrators attempted to storm the building, howling their support for the terrorist body whose genocidal intentions toward Israel and the Jews necessarily includes killing every one of the occupants inside.

Certainly, there have been anti-Israel protests around the world. But in Britain, not only have these been particularly violent but the authorities have done nothing to stop such incitement of hatred.

The police told pro-Israel demonstrators on at least one occasion to put away their Israel flags because they were "inflammatory." Yet officers allowed some anti-Israel demonstrators to scream support for Hamas -- and even to dress up as hook-nosed Jews pretending to drink the blood of Palestinian babies.

In general, the police have reacted passively to the violence. One recent video clip captured the astonishing spectacle of Muslims stampeding through London's West End hurling traffic cones and other missiles at the police, all the time shrieking "Allahu akbar" and "cowards." The police ran and stumbled backward rather than standing their ground and stopping the rampage.
Not only has such violence barely been reported.

There has also been no acknowledgment of the explicitly Islamist nature of these demonstrations. Keffiyeh-clad demonstrators prostrated themselves in prayer or shouted "Allahu akbar" as they attacked Jewish-owned or -founded stores, such as Starbucks and Tesco, on numerous occasions.

Instead, the political class has simply regurgitated Hamas propaganda. In a debate in the House of Commons last week, one MP after another expressed horror at Israel's supposed crimes against humanity in Gaza....

Scotland: Boy Scouts adopt Islamic pledge

Scouts will be able to pledge allegiance to 'Allah' rather than God and Queen.

Boy Scouts in Dundee will be able to pledge allegiance to ‘Allah’ and drop the traditional oath to God and Queen, says the Scout Association in Scotland.
The Association has given its backing to starting Dundee’s 45th troop which will specifically target Muslim boys.

In the oath Muslim recruits will be able to replace the name ‘God’ with “Allah, the Most Beneficent and the Most Merciful”, and pledge to honour “the country in which I am now living” instead of the Queen.

The Scout Association is already open to all faiths and Muslim boys are currently part of existing troops, but according to the Association they are aware of some who might be opposed to the traditional pledge.

A spokesman for the Scout Association Drummond Cox claims the change “represents a tweak rather than a major change”.
He said: “The Scouts may have been a Christian organisation originally but we have long been non-denominational and inclusive.

“This new troop will in no way be exclusionary and non-Muslim boys may join if they wish in an initiative that has the support of the Muslim community.”
Mr Cox added: “There are already Muslim boys in troops around Dundee but until now we do not have one catering for Muslims specifically. It is affirmative action.”

But Richard Cook of the Campaign Against Political Correctness said: “This is a disappointing development and many people will worry about the sad loss of much-loved traditions.

“Many Muslims in this country are proud monarchists, so it seems wrong to alter the pledge.”
Mr Cook warns: “Quite apart from the risk of creating a two-tier Scout movement, there is also the question of how helpful it is to set up a group that specifically aims to recruit young Muslims when we are trying to be more inclusive of other communities.

Does that include subjugating infidels -- such as fellow (but non-Muslim) boy scouts? So now Muslims are opposed to the traditional boy scout pledge (surprise, surprise). Assimilation used to mean immigrants adopt the customs of the host (which seems logical since it is always the former who, of their own accord, seek residency among the latter). Now, however, it seems the opposite is in force: the hosts cater to the immigrants in the name of "multiculturalism" -- or, where Muslims are concerned, dhimmitude.

UK government wasting $1.4 million on group that claims to fight radicalization of Muslims

The British government is wasting $1.4 million on a think tank run by former Islamic extremists to counter the radicalization of Muslims, critics say.

The public money is being given to the Quilliam Foundation think tank despite doubts expressed by members of the government as well as by Conservative Party opponents, The Times of London reported.
The foundation was set up nine months ago by bestselling author Ed Husain and Maajid Nawaz, a former political prisoner in Egypt, as part of the government's strategy to combat the spread of extremist ideology among British Muslims, The Times said.

"It will be very interesting to see what has been achieved with this considerable sum of public money," Patrick Mercer, the Tory Member of Parliament who heads the House of Commons counter-terrorism subcommittee, told the newspaper.

An unnamed government minister told The Times that the size of the grant was outrageous, and saying Britain had seen the rise of an "ex-Islamist industry."

Husain, however, said that Islamism can only be defeated by those who were once a part of it, saying, "If it is becoming an industry, it's a good one and let's have more people on it."

Muslims walking into Jewish-owned shops and saying, "I'm going to kill you"

The Jewish community in Golders Green has been the target of further anti-Semitic attacks, in the form of more offensive graffiti.
Graffiti reading "Kill the filthy Jews" was daubed on walls and pavements near Golders Green tube station and vandals wrote "Jihad 4 Israel" on top of Holocaust Memorial Day adverts.

Golders Green residents have unanimously condemned the ongoing hate crimes, which have risen up in the wake of the Gaza conflict....
Joseph Haziza, 27, manager of Menachem Kosher butchers which is next to Sinclair Grove on Golders Green road, said: "In this area of Golders Green the graffiti hasn't been as bad. Further up the Golders Green Road they have been affected, with Muslims coming into Jewish shops and saying: 'I'm going to kill you'.
"I don't wear my cuple [skull cap] when I'm out and about. I don't want to be started on."...

At least one Jewish resident of the area has been brutally beaten: "Bloody Beating In Golders Green," by Justin Cohen for Totally Jewish.com,

An Orthodox man from Golders Green yesterday spoke of his determination to continue living an openly Jewish life after he was viciously beaten and left with blood pouring from his face, in one of the most serious incidents of an unprecedented wave of anti-Semitism afflicting Britain.
Wearing a kippah and his long Shabbat coat, Michael Bookarz was walking home from La Fiesta restaurant on Golders Green Road on Saturday night when he was set upon by two hooded attackers. "I was walking towards the A406 at about 10.20pm when I noticed a guy was walking towards me," the 31-year-old told TJ.

"He suddenly started running and punched me in the face. When I was on the ground, another person ran over and they both started kicking me and stamping on my body and head.
"One of them said this is because of what's happened to the Palestinians in Gaza. Someone must have looked out the window because they suddenly just ran off leaving me on the floor.

"I was scared but the main thought running through my head as it was happening was self-preservation and defending myself. The second the attack finished my next thought was to get help. I took my phone out to dial 999 and I could see blood covering the screen of the phone - there was blood pouring down from my nose."...

44% of British Muslims Want Separate Muslim Society...

A shocking 44% think they should be free to develop along separate lines. But critics claim Muslims will create their own ghettos if they are left to their own devices.

The poll found religion has replaced race as the biggest equality issue, with six in 10 Brits thinking it is more divisive.
Mass tension has grown following terror attacks from Muslim fanatics, including the 7/7 Tube bombings in 2005.The war in Iraq has also added to divisions leaving many communities split. But critics are fuming Muslims are refusing to fit into our way of life.English Democrats’ chairman Robin Tilbrook said: “As far as I’m concerned, what we want to be about is having an integrated society.

“If people don’t want to integrate, they shouldn't be here.“It’s not at all right to have what’s really a sort of ghetto situation developing – it’s going to lead to trouble.“We can’t have a single society with lots of different rules.” Stephen Green, national director of Christian Voice, said: “I’m not surprised because there are already Muslim enclaves all over the country. They keep themselves to themselves anyway.

”The Equalities and Human Rights Commission poll found 67% of Muslims would not be happy for their child to marry someone of a different religion. But marrying someone from a different race bothers them less, with 61% content with the idea. The shock results come a day after commission chairman Trevor Phillips said Britain was “by far” the least racist country in Europe. And the commission said the poll confirmed Brits are “increasingly at ease with racial diversity”.

It found 58% of ethnic minorities are optimistic about the future and 56% of the public think Britain will have a non-white Prime Minister within the next 20 years. But minority groups are still wary about the police, with 53% believing the failings made in the Stephen Lawrence murder could happen again.Mr Phillips, 55, said: “At this historic moment, when America has chosen its first black leader, it is heartening to recognise that here in Britain we have a sophisticated sense of our own identity and an appreciation and interest in difference. But we can’t be complacent.

“The survey points to emerging religious divisions. And as we mark a darker moment in our history, the 10th anniversary into the murder of Stephen Lawrence, it is clear the police still have work to do to convince our ethnic minority communities they deserve their trust.”

Jihad declared against Starbucks?

Riot police surrounded up to 240 demonstrators in central London, many wearing scarves covering their faces, who broke away from a rally in Trafalgar Square .

Up to 200 were tracked by a police helicopter as they ransacked the coffee shops in Piccadilly and Shaftesbury Avenue while 40 more were contained in Hyde Park, thought to be on their way to the Israeli embassy in Kensington.

The United States coffee chain has recently been the subject of an internet boycott campaign amid claims it donates profits to Israel – an accusation it strongly denies.
Commander Bob Broadhurst, in charge of public order policing for the Metropolitan Police, said: "Once again what we have witnessed in London today is a group of thugs, who are not interested in lawful protest, run through the streets smashing shops without care for the alarm they caused the public.

"Thousands of people expressed their views in an earlier, lawful, rally in Trafalgar Square...What followed was totally unacceptable criminal behaviour by a small minority who do not appear to care about any cause. Their behaviour was inexcusable as they took part in wanton criminality."
Police said the London rally was attended by 3,500 people while organisers of a rally in Birmingham said more than 5,000 turned up.

An Israeli flag was set alight at the rally outside Birmingham's Council House in Victoria Square.

Muslim civil servant 'backed fanatic's call to kill our troops in Iraq'

A civil servant has been suspended after appearing to suggest the killing of British troops in Iraq was justified.

Azad Ali, a Treasury official with a high profile among the Muslim community in Britain, could face a police investigation over the remarks on his internet blog.

The 40-year-old, who is married with three children, quoted an interview with an Islamic extremist who says it is his obligation to kill both British and U.S. soldiers in Iraq as they are ' fighters' and 'occupiers'.

Mr Ali posted on the Between the Lines website that he believed there was 'much truth' in the fanatic's remarks.
Mr Ali, president of the Civil Service Islamic Society, attacked the British government and Foreign Secretary David Miliband over what he sees as support for Israel in its conflict with the Palestinians.

He went on to describe moderate Muslims engaging with the Government as 'self-serving vultures, feeding on the dead flesh of the Palestinians'.
Yesterday the Metropolitan Police said that no complaints had yet been received. But a source said Mr Ali could face an investigation.

Mr Ali, who lives near the East London Mosque in Whitechapel, was regarded as a moderate and has worked closely with the police on consultative groups, including on counter-terrorism.
Yesterday, the IT administrator told the Daily Mail that his lawyers were looking at the allegations which first surfaced in the Mail on Sunday.

Tory MP Patrick Mercer questioned Mr Ali's future in the civil service, saying: 'It is extraordinary to me that a civil servant who is meant to be politically neutral should be making these sorts of comments.'
Yesterday the Treasury said: 'HM Treasury takes allegations of this nature extremely seriously and will investigate them thoroughly.'

This morning's stories have a certain sameness to them: Israel ceases fire, and Hamas fires more rockets into Israel. The only ones who will be surprised will be those who believe the mainstream media propaganda -- which, of course, flows from the governments of the West -- that Israel is the aggressor and once Israel stops fighting, the problem will be over. And likewise in this story: a leading "moderate" Muslim in Britain turns out to hold to all the teachings about Islam and jihad that we have detailed so often here. The only ones who will be surprised will be those who believe the mainstream media propaganda -- which, of course, flows from governments of the West -- that the doctrines of jihad and Islamic supremacism are held only by a Tiny Minority of Extremists™ that has twisted and hijacked Islam the Religion of Peace™.

Saudi scroungers trash £2m house

A FAMILY of 13 Saudis are housed in a £2million mansion at taxpayers’ expense — and have trashed it.

The Al-Ameri clan have spent four years at the plush six-bedroom home — at a total cost of more than £166,000.
They live on income support and a council pays the rent of £41,640 a year.

But landlords Marc and Marlene Roberts are desperate to see the back of the family — accusing them of causing £30,000 damage.
The 3,500 sq ft home boasts a Jacuzzi and huge kitchen with oak panelling and marble tops. The last tenant was a top diplomat.
there are now SMASHED windows, BURST pipes caused by nails driven into the floor, doors RIPPED off their hinges, DAMAGED electrical sockets and ceilings COATED in cooking grease.
Marlene, 44, said the family — whose immigration status is not known — refuse to do repairs, claiming they have no money.
But a flash Mercedes S500 and Nissan Skyline are among four cars parked on the drive.
A woman in Muslim dress who answered the door in Hendon, North-West London, told The Sun: “We are very happy with the house. It is plenty big enough for us. We wouldn’t want to move.”
Marc, 42, said: “I’ll have to gut the place when they finally leave and I just don’t have the money.”

Hairdresser Marlene said: “It’s wrong, very wrong. They have no respect. I put the property for let with the council because I need to pay the mortgage. But they’ve wrecked the place. That home was my pride and joy.
“I really think that councils should make more enquiries when housing families.”
A spokesman for Barnet Council said anyone on income support was entitled to housing large enough for them.
A Department for Work and Pensions spokesman said: “The Government is committed to a fair system.”
He said housing allowance was capped at five bedrooms and the system was under review.

Gaza protesters raid arms factory

Seven men and two women have been arrested after a group of protesters attacked an arms factory in Sussex.

EDO MBM Technology in Moulsecoomb was broken into overnight by the Smash EDO group in response to the action by the Israeli military in Gaza.
Protesters say weapons components made at the site are used by Israeli aircraft on bombing missions.
Sussex Police said extensive damage was caused to the building, computer equipment and precision machinery.
Det Ch Insp Graham Pratt said: "Windows had been smashed and offices turned over in what I would describe as wanton vandalism, but with machinery and equipment so targeted that it could have been done with a view of bringing business to a standstill.
"The damage is significant and the value substantial."
Smash EDO said its activists had thrown computers and filing cabinets from the top floor and had staged a "citizen's decommissioning" of the arms factory "in direct response to the killings of Palestinians".
EDO designs, develops and manufactures weapon carriage and release systems and is an approved supplier to the Ministry of Defence and governments worldwide.
The company was unavailable for comment.

British Soap Opera Hides Cross to Placate 'Non-Christians'...

Coronation Street bosses covered up a cross during filming at a 14th century church - because they thought it may offend viewers.

The Rev. James Milnes said the producers asked for it to be removed entirely, but then settled on hiding it behind candles and flowers.
He described the request - made during the filming of Molly and Tyrone's wedding scenes - as a disgrace.

Rev James Milnes at St Mary's Church in Nether Alderley, Cheshire, which was used for the Coronation Street wedding of Tyrone Dobbs and Molly Compton
The cross was bolted down, so the soap's producers hid it behind candles and flowers for the scene, which was screened on Monday.
Rev Milnes said: 'I can't imagine how people would be offended. It's a church - you expect to see a cross in there.
'You would expect to see the Koran in a film of a mosque, a menorah in a film of a synagogue and similarly a cross when filming a Christian church.'
Stephen Green from protest group Christian Voice said: 'It's absolutely ridiculous.

'If you're going to film people getting married in a church, you're going to come across the odd cross, picture of Jesus or a stained glass window.
'It's this sort of stupidity that gives political correctness a bad name.'
Stephen Regan, a spokesman for the Diocese of Chester, said: 'The cross is universally accepted as a symbol of Christianity, and should offend no one.
'Christianity and Christian characters are quite often featured in both Coronation Street and EastEnders, so why the makers of the Street should object to a cross featuring during a Christian wedding service does not make much sense.

'Certainly, Christians throughout the Diocese of Chester continue to revere the cross as a symbol of hope and faith.'
The 14th century church, in Nether Alderley, Cheshire, was paid £4,600 to be transformed into the wedding venue for filming in late November.
Granada arrived with a caravan of trailers, vans, their own security, a double- decker bus dining cart and more than 150 cast, crew and extras.
Soap bosses have admitted covering up the cross was an 'error'.
A spokesman said: 'We are looking into how and why this happened.
'We chose the church because the characters of Molly and Tyrone wanted a traditional religious church wedding service in a quintessentially English church.

'Covering up the cross was an error and we apologise for any upset this has caused.'
Rev Milnes, 29, who doesn't watch the soap, said: 'I want us to spend the full sum of £4,600 on a handmade silver processional cross.
'I want us to say that the cross was obscured, which is a disgrace - but guess what, we spent every penny from Granada buying the very thing they wanted us to obscure.'

Muslims urge end to anti-Semitism

Prominent British Muslims have denounced anti-Semitic attacks amid fears of a backlash against Jewish communities in Britain over Gaza.

The leaders said that British Jews "should not be held responsible" for Israel's actions in Gaza.
Jewish groups say there has been a record rise in anti-Semitic incidents since the crisis began.

A letter to mosques comes as muslim leaders urge ministers to do more to stop extremists recruiting young men.
In that letter, a broad range of scholars and progressive thinkers appeal to British Muslims to stand by British Jews, rather than allowing extremists to attack them.
The letter's signatories say they condemn "attacks on innocent British citizens and the desecration of places of worship".

"The ongoing killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza by Israeli forces angered us all. However, this does not, and cannot, justify attacks on our fellow citizens of Jewish faith and background here in Britain.

"Most Muslims are completely against such behaviour," it continues. "British Jews should not be held responsible for the actions of the Israeli government."
The Community Security Trust, the main Jewish body that monitors anti-Semitism, says that there were 150 incidents in the 18 days since the conflict in Gaza began.
One synagogue suffered a suspected arson attack in north London. Most other incidents have involved verbal abuse, such as offensive phonecalls or shouts in the street. There has also been an increase in offensive graffiti.

The CST says half of incidents where the perpetrator is identifiable have been carried out by people described by the victim as either Muslim or Arab - higher than previously recorded.
The Metropolitan Police says it has recorded an increase in anti-Semitism in London.
"Firm stand"

Ed Husain, co-director of the Quilliam Foundation, explained what the letter said: "The gist of it is to say that over the last 1300 years we've seen relative peace and harmony between Jews in the Middle East, when there was disharmony here in Europe.
"No matter what British Muslims feel, and they rightly feel anger towards the Israeli government, nothing justifies attacking our fellow citizens of a Jewish background here in Britain."

Dave Rich of the CST said: "The incidents [since Gaza began] are far and away the highest number of incidents that we have recorded.
"The same 18-day period last year saw 24 incidents. During the war in Lebanon, we recorded 134 incidents in 34 days.

"The previous high was 105 incidents in October 2000 at the start of the second intifada."
Fears of extremism
Muslim community leaders met cabinet ministers for the second time in a week on Thursday amid fears that the conflict could derail government efforts to combat extremism.
The BBC understands that during the latest meeting, ministers were urged to do more to distance themselves from both Israel and US policy.
Many of the Muslims present said youngsters angry over the plight of Palestinians needed to hear clearer messages about British foreign policy, amid attempts by extremists to groom potential recruits.

Usama Hasan, an East London imam and community activist, said that he had seen a rise in extremist rhetoric, including new posters calling for violent jihad.
"The level of anger is so great over Gaza - nothing I have ever seen before, much higher than over Afghanistan," he said.

Thugs were like a 'pack of dogs'

A man was left with brain damage after a group of men pursued him “like a pack of dogs” and beat him, a court heard.

Two of 52-year-old James Ferguson’s attackers were respectable professional men and devout Muslims, but their behaviour that night was “utterly terrible,” said a judge.
The group knocked Mr Ferguson to the ground, then kicked and punched him senseless, causing brain damage which may affect him for the rest of his life.
At Gloucester Crown Court carer Farhan Moosajee, 24, of St Swithun's Road,
Hempsted, was jailed for five and a half years and fire service worker Zain Shaikh, 22, of Bishops Castle Way, Barton, got two and a half years.

Both admitted attacking Mr Ferguson with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm on him on May 15 in the city centre last year.
Moosajee’s attack had been the most prolonged and CCTV footage showed him repeatedly stamping on Mr Ferguson’s head.

Article continues below

The prosecution accepted that Shaikh had played a much lesser role in the attack than Moosajee
They said Shaikh was so conscience stricken afterwards that he gave himself up to police.
Prosecutor Lisa Hennessy said Moosajee and his friends were sitting in his car in Barton Street, after a night out when Mr Ferguson walked drunkenly by.
He took a swing at one of the group, which led to Moosajee and the others running after him and unleashing the attack.

“They pursued him almost like a pack of dogs running him to the ground,” said Ms Hennessy.
They then subjected him to a very ferocious assault.
Mr Ferguson was later found unconscious and in a critical condition.
He had no memory of what happened and the last thing he remembered was the previous afternoon.
When he arrived at the hospital accident unit his score on the Glasgow Coma scale was 3 – the lowest level.
He had a right-sided head injury, lacerations on his right temple and forehead and swelling around his left eye.
He had blood around his nostrils. A brain scan showed he had a fractured skull and subdural haematoma.

She said Mr Ferguson suffered from impaired verbal reasoning as a result of the damage and had poor concentration and difficulty multi-tasking.
He was discharged from hospital on May 21 but was likely to continue experiencing difficulties, said the prosecutor.

The prosecutor added that more men are likely to be charged in relation to the attack.
Carole Knott, for Moosajee, said he had been disgusted by his actions.
“He is deeply sorry for what he did,” she said.
“All his family are law abiding citizens – sensible, respectable members of the community.
“He had a job which he really enjoyed as a carer and he has lost that now.”
“He had plans to go through with an arranged marriage procedure with his family next year, but that is going to have to be put on hold.”

Paul Jackson said his client Shaikh had kicked the victim only twice and not to the head.
Although he had drank that night he had not done so since.
Shaikh could be seen on CCTV to be “dithering” about getting involved.
He was also seen remonstrating with the rest of the group, questioning why they were continuing the attack, he said.
Mr Jackson said Shaikh was re-instated at the fire service in November. Asking for a suspended sentence, Mr Jackson said Shaikh was in a position to pay £2,000 compensation to Mr Ferguson.
Sentencing the two men, Judge Martin Picton said: “What happened on this night was utterly terrible.
“Whatever the victim may have done to cause offence cannot justify the reaction of a group of young men who pursued an obviously drunk and vulnerable man down the street as a pack and attacked him savagely.”

Leeds imam failed to tell £1m disabled wife that he'd married second woman

A MUSLIM teacher divorced his severely disabled wife without her knowing so he could keep access to her £1m compensation, Leeds Crown Court heard.

Khalil Kazi, believed to be a former imam at Armley jail and in Batley Carr, married again under Islamic law in Morocco while his original wife, Meimuna, thought she was still married, the jury was told.

Mrs Kazi only learned her marriage had been dissolved when she applied for a divorce.Prosecuting David Hall said that Kazi, 39, of Batley Carr, had falsified divorce papers and perjured himself by falsely swearing a witness statement for a grant of divorce.

His plot collapsed after four years, in 2006, Mr Hall said, when Mrs Kazi visited Dewsbury County Court in March 2006 to apply for a decree of judicial separation.

Giving evidence wearing a veil, wheelchair user Mrs Kazi told the court how she reacted when she was told there was already a divorce in place.

She said: "My solicitor went to speak to Mr Kazi's solicitor and she came back with the shocking news that I was already divorced... I was very shocked. I trusted my husband and I never expected he would do this to me."She added:

"I felt very guilty he had lived with me for one year living in adultery"He never told me at any time he had divorced me. He never mentioned anything about a divorce."

Mrs Kazi's decision to file for a divorce followed her husband's admission that he had married while in Morocco.Mrs Kazi told the court she was 16 when she and Kazi married in 1995.

A year later they had a son and two years later Mrs Kazi sought treatment for back pain.Mr Hall said Mrs Kazi visited Dewsbury Hospital where she was advised her problem was a minor one and should be dealt with by her GP."

It turned out she was suffering from an epidural abscess," Mr Hall said. "It was traced back to the birth.

By the time it was diagnosed Mrs Kazi had been rendered paraplegic. She sued Mid-Yorkshire Hospital Trust for negligence, a case that was settled with a payment of £1m.

At that time, Mr Hall said, Mrs Kazi was still living with her husband and family at Warwick Road, Batley Carr. He said a specially adapted home had been provided for her at Skipton Street, but her husband did not want to move and so she stayed at Warwick Road.

The defendant bought Skipton Street under the right to buy, but Mrs Kazi thought her husband had used her compensation money without her permission, Mr Hall said.Kazi, of Warwick Road, denies perjury and perverting the course of justice.

Prisoners convert to Islam for gang protection

Inmates at Long Lartin prison said some were "becoming Muslim" because it is a "bigger gang".

Radical cleric Abu Qatada, once described as Osama bin Laden's right-hand man in Europe, was held at the prison last year before being released on bail - which he went on to breach.
Similar concerns were raised in an inspection report in to Whitemoor Prison in Cambridgeshire last year, in which prison officers warned extremist Muslim prisoners are ganging up on others in an attempt to radicalise them

Inspectors at Long Lartin, in Worcestershire, were told gang culture us widespread.
One inmate said: "Yes there is a gang culture here which is becoming an issue. A lot of people are becoming Muslim just because it's a bigger gang."
Another said: "There are issues with Muslim gangs wanting to overpower others."
One added: "Muslim gangs; if you have a problem with one, you have a problem with them all," while a fourth said: "People are converting to Islam for protection."
The report, for chief inspector Anne Owers, also found drug debts have led to violence among prisoners.

Inmates use phones to organise sales of class A drugs such as heroin, it said.
Phil Wheatley, director general of the National Offender Management Service, said: "The Governor and senior management team are committed to ensuring that all prisoners feel safe, and the strong personal officer scheme at Long Lartin continues to be developed to offer support to prisoners.

"A new programme to improve engagement, led by the Muslim Chaplain, will develop support specifically for Muslim prisoners. "

'Ring of steel' to guard BBC's HQ against car bombers

It has applied for permission to install more than 200 fixed bollards around the building as well as eight hydraulic retractable bollards and seven large concrete planters.

The move comes amid concerns that Broadcasting House could become a target for terrorists.

Defensive measures: The bollards would make the Broadcasting House site, undergoing an £800million redevelopment, one of the most heavily protected buildings in central London
A similar technique has also been used at the nearby American Embassy, in Grosvenor Square, to prevent car bombers-from getting close.

A BBC spokeswoman said today: 'This has always been part of the plan for the redevelopment. I cannot say more than that - we never discuss security matters.'
But a source at the Corporation added: 'There are concerns that the BBC, because of its international reputation, could be seen as a high-profile target for terrorists.'
Westminster council is due to approve the plans - which will turn Broadcasting House into one of the most heavily protected buildings in London's West End - at a meeting of its planning applications sub-committee tomorrow.

English Heritage objects to the scheme because it feels the concrete planters and stainless steel bollards will be unsightly around the Grade II-listed building. But Westminster planners say the security measures are justified.

A report for the council says: 'The BBC's Broadcasting House is currently being extended with a major new building to the north of old Broadcasting house.
'When completed it will house all of the BBC's new functions. The proposal is to provide bollards and planters around the building.

'The proposed installation of bollards and planters will have a significant visual impact but it is considered that this is acceptable in order to meet the security brief.'
The bollards will encircle the site, running along All Soul's Place, Portland Place, Duchess Street and Hallam Street.

The scheme has emerged as the BBC continues with an £800million revamp of the Broadcasting House site, complete with a new nine-storey glass and stone extension.
The project, which is already two years behind schedule and £20 million over budget, will eventually make room for 4,500 staff, 36 radio studios, six TV studios, two control rooms and 60 editing suites.

It will also include the world's largest newsroom, a 43,000 square foot open-plan office the size of half a football pitch.
The BBC was previously a target for terrorists in March 2001 when the Real IRA planted a bomb in a cab outside BBC Television Centre in Shepherd's Bush. One man suffered minor injuries in the blast.

Race row at top Scots private school after Muslim kids are asked about Jews

A TOP private school is at the centre of a race row between its Jewish and Muslim pupils.

In the wake of fighting in Gaza which has left nearly 1000 Palestinians dead, Muslim children at Glasgow's Hutchesons' Grammar School were asked if they hated Jews.
The school admitted many put up their hands - only to be told they should hate the Israeli army instead.

Muslim and Jewish pupils attend separate morning assemblies at the school, where fees are around £9000 a year.
News of last Thursday's controversial meeting was released by two Jewish pupils who went along by mistake.

The assembly was led by Asgher Mohammed, a parent who is believed to be a chemist.
News of the hate vote spread quickly through the 368-year-old school.
The parents of one of the Jewish children involved wrote to school rector Dr Kenneth Greig.
Dr Greig had letters sent out to other parents to explain the circumstances.
A school spokesman said yesterday: "The person in question has a long-standing history of taking the morning assembly.

"This is the first time anything like this has happened.
Perhaps it was not advisable to ask the question that he did.
"However, no one believes anything was intended to cause offence.
"His lesson was to preach religious tolerance and to show, despite what is going on in the Middle East, that Muslims and Jews in the UK can live in peace."

Claire Singerman, who co-ordinates Jewish assemblies at the school, stressed the "excellent" relationship between pupils of different faiths.
Chemist Asgher Mohammed said last night: "I have seen the statement from the school and amvery happy with that. I am not going to say anything else."
Muslim pupils make up around seven per cent of the school roll. Around six per cent are Jewish.
The school's famous ex-pupils include former lord chancellor Derry Irvine and John Buchan, author of The Thirty-Nine Steps.

Three months ago, it was ordered to improve access for poorer students or risk losing its status as a charity.

NHS Publishes 66-Page 'How Not to Offend Muslims' Guide...

The rules on dealing with religious staff and patients state that all hospitals must be equipped with prayer rooms big enough to accommodate 20 worshippers and storage for religious items, as well as separate fridges for halal, kosher or vegetarian food and burqa-style gowns.

Doctors and nurses must also learn about "the concept of sin", demonic possession and exorcism, and the belief systems of Paganism and Shamanism, so they can deal with the religious needs of patients.

However the new handbook also tells staff that they must respect atheists, and warns that the devoutly religious who try to preach to colleagues or patients about the evils of homosexuality or single mothers could be disciplined for "harassment".
And it advises employers to tell medical students and job candidates as soon as possible what religious practices – such as wearing jewellery or long-sleeved coats – are unacceptable in hospitals and clinics so that they cannot later refuse to abide by them.
The 66-page document, called Religion or Belief: a Practical Guide for the NHS, has been written to comply with new equality and human rights laws that entitle everyone to freedom from discrimination on grounds of their faith.

It is intended to prevent the health service being dragged into costly legal disputes by members of staff or patients who feel their beliefs have not been respected.

And a dentist was found guilty of misconduct after he told a female patient he could not treat her unless she wore "appropriate Islamic dress".

Surinder Sharma, national director for equality and human rights at the Department of Health, said in a foreword to the report: "It is essential that we strive to take account of everyone's needs in the design and delivery of services – including people of different religions or beliefs and those with none."
The guidebook says religious health workers must be allowed time to pray but that this should not mean unbelievers have to work extra to cover for them, or that patients' care is jeopardised.
It says all NHS organisations should display a "multi-faith calendar" so everyone knows when religious holidays are taking place.

And it warns that staff training or bonding events may alienate followers of some faiths if they take place at weekends or in pubs.
The guide goes on: "Those organising such activities as lottery pools, sweepstakes and so on should be aware that people from certain religions (for instance Muslims) may not wish to take part, and should be mindful of this when collecting and distributing monies connected to such activities."

However it also says those applying for jobs in the NHS must be told before starting work exactly what the job will entail and what clothing or religious symbols cannot be worn, so they can decide "whether the job may conflict with their religious convictions".
And those whose faith tells them they must "try to convert other people" must be told on their first day of training that "particular views on sexual orientation, gender and single parents.. potentially cause great offence to other workers or patients or visitors".

Staff must also make sure patients are not given drugs derived from alcohol or animals against their beliefs, or given sedatives when dying if they want to remain conscious to pray.
Mental health workers have to consider whether devout believers will put their illness down to a "demonic attack" or "sin".

It concludes that all trusts should review their employment policies and work practices to ensure they are not discriminating against religious believers, and arrange awareness training for staff.

Taxpayers Forced to Subsidize BBC Channel No One Wants...

The BBC is to spend £15million a year of taxpayers' money on a TV channel aimed at Iranians.

The corporation launches Persian TV , hoping it will compete with tightly-controlled state media in the Islamic republic.

But the broadcaster has already come under fire for wasting public money on the channel, which will be largely inaccessible to British TV viewers.
There are also fears that the BBC's attempts to force its way into the Iranian media market will cause further diplomatic rows.

Iranian officials have claimed the TV service, aired in the Farsi language, will be used by British intelligence for 'espionage and psychological warfare'.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's regime, which already blocks the BBC Persian website to large sections of its population, has described Persian TV as ' suspicious and illegal' and 'working against the interests of the Islamic republic'.

The BBC says viewers must decide for themselves if it is safe for them to use the channel, which has already been refused permission to have a correspondent based in Tehran.
Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corps is also said to have told citizens to avoid contact with the 'lie-spreading' network.

The corporation's website bbcpersian.com (above) has been blocked by the Iranian government, meaning ordinary people cannot access it
Even British politicians fear the the BBC has been urged to launch the channel to try to spread Western values into Iran.

Conservative MP Philip Davies, who sits on the culture, media and sport select committee, said: 'For me this is absolutely laughable that they should be spending all this money on a Persian TV channel, when the Iranian government already block access to its website.

'The BBC has lost all sense of what it should be about.
'Most disturbing is that because it is so ludicrous from a journalism point of view, in that they will not even have their own reporters in Iran, the only conclusion that can be drawn is that they are being leant upon by the British government to do it.'
Accusing the BBC of ' empire building', he added: 'Having a BBC Persian channel is not going to change the way Iran conducts itself.'
The BBC says that the service, manned by 150 mostly Londonbased staff, will be available to millions of Persian-speakers.

As well as an estimated 70 million Persian speakers in Iran, there are said to be another 20million in Afghanistan and 10million in neighbouring Tajikistan.
But the BBC will struggle to get maximum coverage for the service, which will broadcast for eight hours a day, as satellite dish receivers are banned by Iranian authorities.
The World Service said that despite the rules, about 40 per cent of people still have the equipment, meaning 20million in Iran could get the service.
In the UK, only those with certain types of satellite dish will be able to receive the service but it will also be available on www.bbcpersian.com.
As well as news broadcasts, it will also show programmes on music, technology, sports and culture.

Like the rest of the World Service, Persian TV will be paid for by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office - and ultimately by British taxpayers.
The BBC has already launched an £25million-a-year Arabic television service to compete with the likes of Al Jazeera.
A BBC spokesman said research had shown that people in the region valued the corporation's independence and impartiality.

And Nigel Chapman, director of BBC World Service, said: 'BBC Persian TV builds on our distinguished history of broadcasting in Persian and brings the best of the BBC's news and documentary programmes to audiences.'

Muslim Gangs Terrorize Elderly and Disabled in UK Neighborhood

RESIDENTS in a Staincliffe cul-de-sac say that CCTV and more police patrols are the only way to make them feel safe in their own homes.

Gangs of Asian youths are continuing to plague elderly and disabled residents in Manor Way.
The Press highlighted residents’ fears last September but police promises to increase patrols at the top of Manor Way, close to Manorfields Infants School, have failed to deter the troublemakers.

The yobs, aged from about 16 upwards, drink, take drugs, hurl abuse at the residents and vandalise their cars and homes.
“We’ve had another three cars damaged in the last three weeks,” said residents’ spokesman Tony Gott, 71. “The police come up once in a while but they don’t do anything, often they don’t even get out of their car.”

Early on Saturday evening three yobs attacked the car of disabled couple Mick and Judie Troughton, repeatedly jumping on the bonnet and smashing the windscreen.
“It was parked right outside our house, it’s just not fair that we should have to live like this,” said Judie.
“We’re disabled but this shouldn’t happen to any of us and I can’t sleep through worrying about what could happen next.”

Two other cars have also been attacked in the last three weeks and fellow resident Brenda Battle says she dare not leave her car outside her home after it was damaged several times.
“Even my sons are dubious about leaving their vehicles outside for short periods of time,” she said.
“One had his window smashed after parking outside for just 15 minutes when he came to see me. They were all just stood there, laughing at us, but we can’t fight back because we don’t know what might happen to us.
“I’ve had my car damaged five times and they’ve even stolen my number plates.”
Brenda Pollard has lived on the street for 18 years and says that the yob problem is the worst it’s ever been.

“We’re at the limit of what we can take,” she said. “There was a bit of a lull when the police patrols came up here, but they seem to have petered out and the gangs are back worse than ever.”

Mr Gott added: “We need CCTV up here, that’s the only way we can think of to solve this.
“We need more police patrols and cameras so that they’ll think twice.”
Batley and Birstall Neighbourhood Policing Team Inspector Neil Money said patrols would continue and called on parents to name and shame the yobs.
Insp Money said action had been taken. An 18-year-old boy was stopped and searched and was due to appear in court for possessing an offensive weapon.

A teenage girl was also cautioned for possession of cannabis.

Bogus doctor, 25, sexually assaulted pensioner in home

BOGUS doctor Yaqub Hussain sexually assaulted an 82-year-old widow in her own home while "examining" her.

The 25-year-old managed to get hold of the pensioner's phone number and called to arrange to visit her bungalow in the south of Stoke-on-Trent on January 8 last year.
The city's crown court heard yesterday how the elderly woman suffers from deep vein thrombosis, angina, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease – for which she requires oxygen and has several tanks – and depression.

Hussain called her on four occasions before he arrived, telling her he would take her some medication.
Prosecutor Robert Price said: "He kept saying, 'I will be with you soon, lovely, do not worry, I am on my way'.

"When she opened the door, he said he was the doctor. She thought he was genuine.
"He asked if he could wash his hands. He put his hands on her forehead and felt her pulse on her wrist. He felt her chest over her clothing and said she possibly had an infection. He asked her to lift up her top."
Mr Price said the woman did what Hussain asked as "he was really convincing".
It was when Hussain inappropriately touched the pensioner when he claimed to be examining her abdomen that she realised he was a conman.

Mr Price added: "She became frightened and started to panic. She jumped off the settee and demanded he showed some identification. He said he would go and get it and left."
The distressed woman called her daughter and the police were soon alerted.
The court heard the elderly victim is now frightened to answer her phone or front door and is too scared to go out on her own.

Before the assault, Hussain fetched the pensioner some water when she started coughing – a move which helped police trace him.
The mug Hussain used was examined for DNA and a profile was obtained which matched his. Analysis of his mobile phone also linked him to the crime.
Hussain, of Thorpe Road, Walsall, pleaded guilty to sexual assault.
His counsel, Talbir Singh, said it was a repugnant piece of behaviour but said Hussain, a married father-of-one, was not mentally unstable and has not offended in this way before.
He said the shame of the offence will outlive any sentence and argued Hussain was not a dangerous offender.

But Judge Paul Glenn said Hussain displayed little empathy for his victim and classed him as dangerous.
"This is an appalling case," said the judge. "You deliberately targeted an elderly victim. It would be difficult to pick a much more vulnerable victim.
"It was planned and predatory behaviour."
He sentenced Hussain to an indeterminate sentence. He must serve a minimum of two years and three months before he can be considered for release, but the judge said the actual term he would serve would be significantly longer.

Bill to Taxpayers for Violent London Protest in the Millions...

Taxpayers face a bill of more than £1million after violence erupted during a weekend of demonstrations over the Israeli military action in Gaza.

Extremists were blamed for clashes which broke out near the Israeli embassy in London, as tens of thousands marched in protest over Israel's offensive.
Police believe a small number of activists tried to hijack the demonstration and turn it into a riot.

Shop windows were smashed and police pelted with bricks and bottles by masked youths near the embassy in Kensington during the largest demonstration against Israel's military action. Protesters smashed up a police van before torching an Israeli flag.
Many are thought to have travelled to London with the aim of causing anarchist mayhem at Saturday's demonstration, organised by the Stop the War Coalition.
It is believed coachloads of Muslim youths with Pakistani origins attended the demonstration after being driven from Yorkshire and the Midlands.

A total of 24 arrests were made, mainly for violent disorder. Three police officers and 20 protesters suffered minor injuries. Scotland Yard sources say the cost of policing Saturday's demonstration, and other Gaza-related protests in London over the past week, already exceeds £1million.
Metropolitan Police Commander Bob Broadhurst hit out at 'the irresponsible and criminal actions' of the rioters.

'A hard core of demonstrators has undermined the cause of the vast majority of demonstrators, who are law abiding citizens wishing to protest peacefully,' he said.

there were two more demonstrations in Central London. Thousands of Israeli supporters gathered in Trafalgar Square. A rival pro-Palestinian march, attended by several hundred, started from Marble Arch. Both passed off peacefully.

TRADERS told today how pro-Palestinian demonstrators caused hundreds of thousands of pounds of damage when they ransacked businesses near the Israeli Embassy.

Worshippers' fury over parking tickets

MUSLIMS are appealing for traffic wardens to spare them parking tickets while they pray for an hour on Fridays.

Members of the mosques in Manchester Road and Broad Street want Swindon Council to turn a blind eye to worshippers who park in residents’ spaces.
In the past, there was an unwritten rule that wardens largely ignored illegally parked cars during their sermons.

But in recent months, traffic wardens have been ticketing without restraint.
Coun Derique Montaut (Lab, Central): “At one stage traffic wardens took a softly softly approach.
“But we are now saying everyone should be treated the same. There should be no privileges.”
Mansoor Khan, secretary of the Thamesdown Islamic Association, said: “The parking situation is atrocious.

“We are getting sick and tired of it. People don’t have time to go to a car park and walk, as they are on their lunch break from work.”
Muhammad Ali, a representative of the Marat Shahjalal mosque in Manchester Road, said spaces are empty during Islamic prayer time, as residents are at work anyway.
“A lot of prayer goers are getting tickets every week,” he said.
“It is causing unnecessary arguments. I don’t think it is too much to ask for us to be allowed to park in empty resident parking spaces for one hour.
“People should be facilitated for religious purposes.”

Since the parking attendants started cracking down about three months ago, Mr Ali describes the mood as disheartened.
“We are just looking for harmony,” he said.
He added that he felt the Muslim community was often blamed for illegal parking outside the Mirchi Cash and Carry in Manchester Road, but he puts it down to shoppers.
Coun Junab Ali (Lab, Central) is trying to find a solution to the problem, which may involve securing spaces in a car park nearby.
But any suggestions would need to be agreed by Broadgreen residents, he added.
“At the end of the day we live in one community and we want better inclusion and cohesion,” he said.

“There is one rule for everybody. The law is for all of us.”

The above article describes another example of muslims expecting & demanding preferential treatment when it comes to local or national laws.

Jihadists threaten to behead Madonna over Gaza

Madonna has urgently beefed up her family's security after being targeted by Muslim fanatics seeking revenge for Israel's attacks on Gaza.

One Palestinian terrorist chief has threatened to BEHEAD the superstar who is a dedicated member of the Jewish Kabbalah sect.
Madonna is also desperately worried for the safety of her children Lourdes, 12, Rocco, eight, and adopted David Banda, three.

We can reveal the 50-year-old singer has now...
Got two ruthless Israeli former secret service agents to beef up her security.
Warned her ex-husband Guy Ritchie his home in busy central London is vulnerable to attack when he has the kids.
Told him to MOVE to a more secure pad where the children will be safe.
A source close to the singer said: "Madonna is well known for her Kabbalah faith and support for Israel, having visited the country several times.

"This seems to upset extreme Muslims who forget she respects people of all faiths whether Islamic, Christian or Buddhist. Like anyone else she would like a peaceful end to the problems in Gaza.

"But she is beside herself with worry, not just for her own safety but for that of the children."
Last week The People uncovered the hatred aimed at Madonna when we infiltrated secret fundamentalist Muslim websites. Our investigator posed as a British extremist to gain entry to the password-protected sites.

On the notorious Islambase site, a Palestinian terror leader says: "If I meet these whores I will have the honor to be the first one to cut the head off Madonna if they will keep spreading their satanic culture against Islam."...

minister and radio host fired for defending Christian teachings on air, thereby offending Muslims

A radio presenter is taking legal action after he alleged he was sacked for offending Muslims by defending Christianity on air.

The Rev Mahboob Masih, a Church minister, claims he was unfairly dismissed and that the action taken against him was a case of religious discrimination.
He had been host of a regular Saturday morning show on Awaz FM, a community radio show in Glasgow, for six years before the row with the station's management blew up.

After a lively religious debate, the radio station management took exception to the content of the discussion. The Rev Masih was accused of not being balanced enough on air. However, Awaz FM refuses to detail anything specific he said that might have offended its listeners.
The Rev Masih and his co-presenter Afzal Umeed were discussing the views of a prominent Muslim speaker, Zakir Naik, who the Rev Masih accuses of belittling the Christian faith on Peace TV, a digital channel.

The Rev Masih says that Mr Umeed asked Asif Mall, a Christian on-air guest, about Mr Naik's remarks. Mr Mall said Mr Naik's comments showed a lack of knowledge of the Bible and of the Koran.

In particular, Mr Mall disputed a claim by Mr Naik that Jesus Christ was not the only prophet to be "the way, the truth and the life".
The Rev Masih, 37, who is the minister in West Kirk, East Kilbride, says that he reluctantly made an on-air apology in an attempt to defuse the row. However, he says he refused a request from a senior station official to deliver an apology in person at the Central Mosque in Glasgow because he felt intimidated and his safety could have been endangered. He also insists he had nothing to apologise for to Muslims....

Life for Muslim who Set Elderly British Woman on Fire...

A POSTAL worker who burned and brutally battered a 79-year-old Burton widow to death has been jailed for life.

Pensioner Ellen Portsmouth died 24 hours after the 'ferocious' attack on her by Irfan Salim, a man who had befriended her.
Salim, , 25, of Waterloo Street, Burton, punched, kicked and set the frail, 6st Mrs Portsmouth's hair on fire, Stafford Crown Court heard.
He left her with more than 60 injuries, including breaking 21 of her 24 ribs and fracturing her sternum. The court was told that for two years, Salim had been a good friend to his victim, collecting her pension and running errands - but the reason he suddenly attacked her in her own bedroom remains a mystery.Heath Westerman, prosecuting, said the murder took place on November 7 last year.Mrs Portsmouth lived in rented property in Wellington Street, and the defendant was a friend of her landlord.

For the past two years, Salim had been caring for her, collecting her pension and doing her shopping.
On the night of the offence, he left work at Burton Post Office around 6pm and went straight to the Wellington Arms.Afterwards, he went to Mrs Portsmouth's home to get more alcohol, but a row erupted between them and he attacked her.
She made a 999 call around 8.25 that evening, telling the operator she had been 'smashed up' and was in "considerable pain".
She was taken to hospital, but the following day she suffered a heart attack and died.
Her last words were to tell a police officer that after refusing Salim alcohol, she had 'given him what for' in the ensuing argument, but that he had given her 'a right beating'.
Mr Westerman said Mrs Portsmouth was 'a lonely, frail widow' with no children, but several siblings.
None of her family had made a victim impact statement. However, neighbour Tanya Plant described her as 'a second mum' who was always good and kind to her.
Miss Plant said she would never forget the 'evil' done to her friend.Darron Whitehead, defending, said: "Why did he kill her? Quite often you can see a motive . . . none of them exist here, and to all those who seek answers, they'll not find them because he can't find the answer."
For reasons psychiatrists can't get to the bottom of, he snapped. He is a young man of previous good character, no history of violence.
"This was out of character, there were no signs this was going to happen."Ellen Portsmouth was someone he thought he could help - that may seem ironic."He would often sit with her at night talking when she was lonely.
At no time had he ever raised his fist to her, at no time had they fallen out."Salim admitted murder. Judge Simon Tonking jailed him for life and ordered he should serve at least 16 years and eight months before being considered for parole. He told Salim: "You set about her in a brutal, sustained and cruel attack.
"The setting fire to her hair was a cruel and degrading act. Finally, having done what you did to her, you left her in distress and seriously injured, you left her to her fate, went home and went to bed.
In a letter to the judge, Salim said: "I know I have committed an awful, disgraceful crime. I am truly and deeply sorry. I wished it had never happened at all. I'll never drink again, ever."Inspector Javid Oomer, Neighbourhood Policing Unit Commander at Burton, said: "Although we may never know what motivated Salim, this was a vicious and unprovoked attack on an elderly woman."The taking of Ellen's life was a violent and senseless act and our thoughts are with her family and friends."

Brit Muslims: Gaza backlash to hit UK

THE Gaza conflict could spark a violent Islamic backlash in Britain, Muslim advisers warned the PM yesterday.

The alert came hours after dozens of police dodged missiles as they battled to separate hundreds of demonstrators outside the Israeli Embassy in London.
One cop was hurt and nine men were arrested in Wednesday night’s clashes between pro-Palestinian and pro-Israeli factions in Kensington. Police were preparing for more angry scenes today.

Yesterday, 14 British Muslim advisers warned Gordon Brown that anger in their UK communities had reached “acute levels of intensity”.
They said Israel’s attacks on Gaza had “revived extremist groups and empowered their message of violence”. In a letter to the PM, they called for pressure to be put on the US to change its approach to the crisis.

Maajid Nawaz, of counter-extremism think-tank the Quilliam Foundation, said moderate groups needed to be able to explain the Government’s stance to British Muslims. This would help them counter the view put by hate-mongers that it was not doing enough or did not care about Palestinian deaths.

Meanwhile, Jewish communities in Britain have reported a significant rise in anti-Semitic attacks since Israel launched its offensive on December 27.
These include two serious assaults on Jews, an arson attack on a synagogue in Brondesbury Park, North West London, and death threats to rabbis in Manchester. The Community Security Trust, which advises Jews on security matters, said: “A week ago we were getting around 20 reports of incidents each day. This morning it was 30.
“It is upsetting and a concern, but we are getting on with our lives. The sooner things quieten down in the Middle East, the better.”

Yesterday, veteran peace campaigners Tony Benn and Brian Haw joined the launch of a non-stop vigil opposite the Houses of Parliament in protest at Israel’s invasion of Gaza.

Activists plan to maintain a presence in Parliament Square around the clock until the Israeli military withdraws from Gaza and the violence ends.
Ex-cabinet minister Mr Benn, 83, who retired from Parliament in 2001, called it a “massive humanitarian crisis”. Police are bracing themselves for potential clashes between rival protesters tomorrow. A Stop The War march is planned at Hyde Park and a Jewish rally at Trafalgar Square.

Other demos are planned on Sunday in London and Manchester.
Meanwhile, a probe has been launched into violent confrontations that took place after up to 12,000 people gathered in Whitehall last Saturday.
Passionate
Commander Bob Broadhurst, responsible for public order policing by the Met, said: “For the last 11 days we have policed a number of demonstrations in central London by those who wanted to express their views about the ongoing conflict. We are now preparing for further protests.
“I am mindful of the deeply passionate response that this conflict causes in people.”

Muslim extremists hijack radio station's website 'because they hate Cliff Richard'

The shocked owner of a radio station whose website has been hijacked by Muslim extremists believes it was targeted because they played a song by Cliff Richard.

Hackers removed the station’s home page and replaced it with haunting images and a message said to be on behalf of Ahmed Al-Qahtani - a suspect in the 9/11 attacks.
Radio Basingstoke owner and DJ Astrid Haigh-Smith was horrified to find her website pictured a spooky pair of green eyes above a woman on an altar.

The message, which was written in green on a black background, called on God to bless Muslim fighters, or Moujahidines, and warned the West not to insult Islam.
But Ms Haigh-Smith, 53, says she will not allow the fanatics to intimidate her and insists she will not change the station’s playlist.

The station, whose website had 140,000 hits last month, expressed their support for British troops over Christmas and played Cliff Richard’s version of Hallelujah.
The ageing popstar is famous for being a Christian and the Leonard Cohen song was Christmas number one for X-Factor winner Alexandra Burke.
Ms Haigh-Smith said: ‘When I realised what had happened, I was quite frightened and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up.

‘I couldn’t understand why we had been targeted.

‘I just thought maybe it was because we had commented that we hoped our troops would be safe over Christmas.
‘We’ve also played the Cliff Richard version of Hallelujah, but we would never dream of running down any religions.
‘I’m not going to change what songs we play. If we start doing things like that then the terrorists will have won.’

The site was compromised on Monday morning and again on Wednesday.
The hijacker used the name ‘Soldier of Allah’ and ‘M03sl3m H4ck3rs’ - or Muslim Hackers written with numbers.

The message warned: ‘Whoever thinks of insulting Islam or Muslims will suffer the same fate.

‘We are the nightmare of western websites in the cyber war.’
The hackers claim they are defending Islam from harassment by America, Israel and Denmark.
Ms Haigh-Smith who launched the online-station last year, runs the website from her home. It streams music online 24/7.

Police told her not to make any changes to the website until they had collected printouts.
Ms Haigh-Smith said: ‘The officer came round on Monday morning but was very tight-lipped.
‘He phoned Special Branch to read them the contents of the messages.

‘The only thing they would say was a few websites had been hacked into since the Israel attacks.’ Hampshire Police spokesman Peter Edney said: ‘We are investigating the matter but cannot comment on what lines of inquiry we are looking into.’ Computer security magazine SC Magazine reports that more than 10,000 websites worldwide have been hijacked by extremists since Israel attacked Gaza last week.

It says a hacker named ‘Cold Z3ro’ runs an Arabic hacking school on the internet and is claiming responsibility for thousands of defacements.

The defaced Radio Basingstoke pages have now been replaced.
