Woman sexually assaulted at knifepoint in broad daylight

Police are investigating after a woman was sexually assaulted at knifepoint in broad daylight in Peterborough.

The woman in her 20s was walking towards Ivatt Way from Lincoln Road when she was approached by a man described as around 18-years-old and asian.

The woman managed to escape and extra police patrols are taking place.

An 18-year-old man was arrested but has been released under investigation.

This was a terrifying experience for the victim who was not injured but extremely upset and shaken.

Although this is not a residential area I hope someone may have seen a youth matching this description at the time. I would urge anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to contact police without hesitation.
