Sadiq Kahn, who is presiding over ballooning crime rates, has consistently said that there is no money for more police but has managed to find 6k for an Islamic ‘cultural center’.
Mr Khan made the award as part of a £1.4 million fund made available to tackle knife crime. The money has beenprovided to “to deliver five community consultation events for 100 Somali parents and young people in Southwark to raise awareness of knife crime”.
Money has also been found for ‘green projects’. This year Mr Khan announced a budget of £34 million for green energy and solar initiatives in London, which would fund 1000 extra police constables.
Mr Khan has presided over the fastest growth in crime in recent history in the UK capital, with homicide rising by 27.1 percent, youth homicide up by 70 percent, youth violence up 19 percent, robbery up 33.4 percent, and home burglaries rising by 18.7 percent.
The question needs to be asked if money is being spent effectively and wisely to achieve maximum impact or indeed it would be better spent providing police officers to tackle the rising tide of crime and ensure residents in London are safe. It is quite clear that Mr Khan has other priorities that matter more than peoples safety.
