Anger over British citizenship classes

A islamic COUNCILLOR has lashed out at Government plans to give Muslim students compulsory British citizenship classes in the wake of terror attacks.The Respect councillor for Sparkbrook Salma Yaqoob hit out at plans outlined today by Higher Education Minister Bill Rammell.Mr Rammell claimed a better understanding of British values is crucial following the July 7 terror attacks on London last year.He suggested citizenship classes for Muslim students were the way to do this. But Mrs Yaqoob claimed classes should be for all British youngsters, not just British Muslims.
