As the anniversary of the 7/7 London terror attacks approaches, Muslims in Britain are denying responsibility and accusing the government of perpetrating the bombings and fabricating evidence: Brown revives plan to hold terror suspects for 90 days.
Last week in Beeston, Leeds, which was home to three of the London bombers, relatives and friends of the perpetrators — as well as some prominent residents — were denying they were responsible for the attacks, which killed 52 people in addition to the bombers.
Imran Hussain, 25, brother of Hasib Hussain, one of the bombers, said police had not shown his family convincing evidence of his sibling’s guilt. Asked if he believed the government had covered up the true cause of the explosions, he said: "They’ve done it before, so why can’t they do it again?"
A former teacher and friend of Germaine Lindsay, another of the bombers, said the widely published photograph of the four entering Luton rail station on their way to bomb London was a fabrication.
"It’s clear the image has been doctored," said the man, who runs a cafe in Leeds. Others went further. Mohammed Butt, 57, a trustee of the local Stratford Street mosque, said: "I am 100% convinced they did not do it. It’s all lies. I think the government is behind it all."
A controversial Muslim cleric accused of making virulently anti-semitic remarks and advocating violence — which he denies [see below. ] has been invited to speak this week at an Islamic conference, to be opened by Ken Livingstone, mayor of London.
Sheikh Riyadh ul-Haq, an imam from Leicester refused entry into Canada this weekend because of his allegedly inflammatory sermons, will lecture at the IslamExpo conference, which has received £200,000 from Livingstone’s London Development Agency.
Canada may have barred hate preacher Riyadh ul-Haq from entering, but they allowed him to give his speech to Canadian Muslims anyway: 1,000 listen to barred imam.
A controversial British imam who addressed a gathering of Muslim youth via live video after being barred from entering the country spoke about defamation, speculation and backbiting as sins "more serious than adultery" in Islam.
Shaykh Riyadh ul Haq spoke passionately for an hour yesterday from London on "Social Etiquettes: The Islamic Perspective," with organizers extending his speech time by 15 minutes at the Youth Tarbiyah Conference in Scarborough. It was to be his fifth visit to the conference.
The imam has been accused of preaching hateful sermons against Jews, Hindus, moderate Muslims and homosexuals. His speeches prompted some religious and advocacy groups — including the Canadian Jewish Congress, the Muslim Canadian Congress, the Hindu Dharma Mission and the gay rights group Egale Canada — to demand that Immigration Minister Monte Solberg deny ul Haq entry.
Except for briefly thanking all those who have shown solidarity and support, saying he was "innocent until proven guilty," the imam steered clear of addressing the controversy that has surrounded him.
Notice how both of these article refer to ul-Haq’s "allegedly inflammatory" sermons, as if it were in doubt; once again the media carries water for radical Islam. The Canadian Coalition has made MP3 recordings of ul-Haq’s raving jihad speeches available, so you can judge for yourself: Ban radical Sheikh invited to address young Canadian Muslims.
From the speeches of Sheikh Riyadh Ul-Haq...
On Jihad and Martydom: Audio "Among the believers there are those who have proved their word and agreement with Allah and thus they have expired their lives, meaning they are martyred in the way of Allah. And the rest of the believers, they are waiting for martyrdom. They are waiting for shahada [martyrdom] . We should follow in the footsteps of the sahaba [companions of the prophet]. We may be under siege at the moment but have hope."
On the Taliban: Audio "The Prime Minister [Tony Blair] tells Muslims in this country that whatever the Taliban says about casualties, etc., you should treat it with caution, you shouldn't believe what they say. Those servants of Allah are declared liars."
On Moderate Muslims: Audio "The only Muslims who are considered moderates are those who for example, forgive me for polluting the masjid's [mosque's] atmosphere by saying this, but those Muslims who openly advocate lesbianism, those who are publicly declared homosexuals, Muslims who don't believe in segregation - the hijab - who feel no shame bowing down and kissing the Pope's hand, those Muslims who feel absolutely no shame, or they don't see any sense of irony in the fact that they openly declare that Israel should be recognized as a Jewish state, not only should Jerusalem be handed over completely to the Jews, but even the Masjid al-Aqsa."
On Hindus and Jews: Audio "Of the peoples of the earth, the ones that hate Muslims the most, the ones who are bitterest in their enmity towards Muslims, the most unrelenting, unforgiving, are the Jews and the mushrikin [Hindus], idolaters in all their forms."
On Jews: Audio "May Allah give all Muslims, individuals and leaders, especially, and our governments the understanding and the sense to see through their propaganda, their, and deceit and to view them as they really are and thus treat them accordingly."
