Gas terror plot targeted Ashes

ENGLAND’S Ashes winners and their Australian cricket rivals were targets of an al-Qaeda murder plot, it was claimed yesterday.

A friend of July 7 bomb monster Hasib Hussein said the plan was to spray lethal sarin gas inside the team changing rooms.
The source, who uses the alias Ahmed Hafiz, said Hussein and his fellow terrorists were told to get jobs as stewards at Birmingham Test venue Edgbaston and carry out the attack during the Test there in August last year.
But said Hafiz, al-Qaeda commanders in Pakistan decided the target should be the London Underground instead.
