COMMUNITY leaders appealed for calm yesterday after an Asian gangster glassed a white teenager on the street where Kriss Donald grew up.
The attacker struck just days before the schoolboy's killers were jailed. He allegedy shouted at his victim: "We're going to murder all the white boys in Pollokshields."
The 19-year-old man needed stitches to his mouth after the unprovoked assault.
Strathclyde Police said the victim was treated at Glasgow's Victoria Infirmary after an attack on McCulloch Street.
Muhammad Shoaib, chairman of the Pollokshields Development Agency, said: "There is a problem here with gang culture.
"There are white gangs and Asian gangs and splinter groups who will use any excuse for violence." Kriss' killers were sentenced to life last week after being returned from Pakistan, where they had fled.
Lead investigating officer Chief Supt Elliot McKenzie last night said: "The inquiry team are grateful to Mohammed Sarwar MP for helping secure their extradition. "It was a long and complicated case but it was worth it to see these men being taken to the prison van after sentencing."
