Veil-wearing Muslim women are part of our fight - al-Qaeda chief

The wearing of the Veil by Islamic women has become something of a subject of debate here in Europe. A vast number of the mainland’s countries have taken active steps in which to limit the wearing of such (in their eyes religious oppressive) attire from public buildings. Court cases in Germany, Belgium and England have galvanised the faithful to take a stand and cry foul play towards their faith. They cite free speech, human rights and religious freedoms in which to wear what they want when they want.On the opposite side of the fence we have people who cite that the wearing of the veil has no place in a secular society. That it is a tool of male oppression, that the Koran does not dictate the wearing of the veil and that it is been used as a political tool in which to polarise the Muslims in western society away from integrating with their host nations. So I was a little surprised when this old man stuck in a cave (these past 5 years) with his bum chum Osma for company has decided to enter the fray with his 2 rupees worth:
Veil-wearing Muslim women are part of our fight - al-Qaeda chiefAL-QAEDA'S deputy leader said yesterday that any Muslim woman who wears the veil in Western countries is a supporter in what he described as a fight between Islam and "Zionist Crusaders". The authenticity of the tape could not be verified, but it was posted on websites used by al-Qaeda and other insurgent groups in Iraq and the voice of speaker sounded like Zawahri's. The statement - said to have been issued by al-Qaeda's "media arm" al-Sahab - praised Muslim women who insist on wearing the Islamic veil despite pressures not to in some Western lands. He described anyone doing that as "a soldier in the battle of Islam against the Zionist- Crusader attack".On that note have a look at the foot soldiers below.

Have a look at the picture. Granted the women are not wearing the veil. But notice something the men (whom under Islam are much more pious) are dressed in western clothing. There lies the whole fallacy of this religious angle in which we in the west allow women to be oppressed in the name of free speech, human rights and religious tolerance. If Muslim woman have to cover up in which to come across as good Muslims , how come almost every Mustapha, Mahatma and Mohammed is dressed in the same clothes as you and I. Jeans, T-shirts and shorts are fine for the men. But if you are a woman. Boy there is hell to pay.So I thank the idiot in his cave for putting his oar into the argument as it simply shows that this thing about covering up has nothing to do with emulating Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo and Donatello (Ninja turtles) or for that matter a religious duty. But rather it is a political statement which allows fuddy duddy old men to oppress women and keep them in the gutter.
