Hook 'to face trial in the US'

JAILED hate preacher Abu Hamza could soon face trial in America after a court opened the way for him to be extradited yesterday.
The hook-handed cleric, 48, is accused in the US of helping al-Qaeda take hostages in Yemen.
He could face decades in prison and fears he will serve time at Guantanamo Bay.
London’s Westminster court set May 16 for an extradition hearing after Hamza’s failed bid to overturn his UK convictions for soliciting murder and inciting racial hatred.
He was jailed for seven years last February. And on Monday the House of Lords refused him leave to continue an appeal.
Hamza appeared yesterday via video link from Belmarsh jail but spoke only to confirm he understood the process.
If convicted in the US, he would be sent back here to complete his stretch before being returned to America.
