TWO teens are expected to appear in court today for their alleged part in a terror plot.
Former public schoolboy Andrew “Isa” Ibrahim, 19, and Somalian student Hashi Omer, 18, will appear at Bristol Crown Court.
Muslim convert Ibrahim, of Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol, will appear by videolink to face charges of possessing explosives, possessing articles for terrorist purposes and intending to commit acts of terrorism.
Omer, also a Muslim, previously released on bail and now living in St Judes, Bristol, is charged with failing to disclose information to cops – specifically about Ibrahim’s alleged preparations for a suicide bomb attack.
Explosions
Controlled explosions were carried out at Ibrahim’s home in Comb Paddock in April.
Cops said the teen was accused of possessing an explosive organic chemical compound.
He is also accused of possessing two home-made vests, ball bearings, air gun pellets, nails and screws, wired circuitry, batteries and electric bulb filaments.
Officers arrested Omer in June after their investigation into Ibrahim led them to his former home – a rented bedsit in Bristol.
After appearing at City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court in June, Omer was released on conditional bail.
The conditions included an electronic tag to enforce an overnight curfew and £100 sureties from Omer’s uncle and grandmother.
The pair will appear at Bristol Crown Court today for a plea and case management hearing.
