Muslims, 4-5% of the general population of England and Wales, now make up a staggering 14% of prison inmates according to figures released by the Ministry of Justice.
That’s up from 7.7% on 2002, and is continuing to rise rapidly.
Some prisons, such as Whitemoor, hold more than 40% Muslim inmates.
Bring on the doomsayers who trot out the usual excuses.
Mizanur Rahman, spokesman for the organisation Muslim Prisoners, claims that it is down to Islamophobia and racism among police.
Senior lecturer on criminology and criminal justice at Salford University, Muzammil Quaraishi, suggests it’s because officialdom pays more attention to Muslims, and because they are a suspect population in the eyes of law enforcement.
Bomb and terrorism plots that we don’t get from any other religious group here might well have that effect, as well as the traditional wall of Muslim silence – look in the mirror Islam.
Shadow Justice Secretary Sadiq Khan, whines that it is a huge concern and that the governments complacency is breathtaking.
It’s always the same – Islamophobia, racism, the nasty kuffar always keeping a Muslim brother down.
Couldn’t it be the case that B/Many convert, some under duress, to Islam whilst inside; B/Muslims (and, from the reports statistics Pakistani Muslims in particular) are more likely to commit serious crimes that will end in incarceration?
Of course not, it has to be prejudice. The innocence of Muslims is a truism after all, at least according to the politically correct elite and, of course, Muslims themselves.
It could never be that Muslims, as with terrorism, are leaders in the field of many other crimes – that just wouldn’t fit the official narrative!
