Brighton men jailed for 'spiked drinks' rape

Three men have been jailed for raping a 19-year-old woman they plied with drink and drugs during a party in Brighton.
Doorman Rani Mishrigi and two unemployed men, Kurlos Ramzi and Hany Mohamed, were found guilty of rape after a trial at Hove Crown Court.
Sussex Police said all three maintained the woman consented, but her testimony and forensic evidence was "compelling".
Judge Anthony Niblett said their attitude to women was "arrogant, selfish and wholly disrespectful".

'Unable to consent'

The woman was raped at a party in New England Road, where Mohamed then lived.
The judge said the men abused the victim to varying degrees at a time when she was unable to consent, as a result of being plied with drink and drugs.
"It is likely in my judgement that she had consumed alcohol laced with drugs," he said.
Mishrigi, 25, of Hangleton Manor Close, Hove, was jailed for six years.
Ramzi, also 25, of Flint Close, Portslade, was sentenced to seven years and Mohamed, 26, of Regency Square, Brighton, was jailed for nine years.
They will all be registered sex offenders for life
