British jihadi fighting for Al Qaeda-linked group in Syria packs toiletries in his ammunition belt

A British jihadi fighting for the Al Qaeda-linked Nusra Front group in Syria has been pictured carrying a toothbrush in his weapons belt in a series of bizarre propaganda images.

Calling himself Abu Basir al-Britani, the white convert is seen in the bombed out remains of the town of Baraghedeh, carrying an assault rifle with an ammunition belt packed with loaded magazines.

Curiously the militant is seen with a green toothbrush packed among the weapons of war in his belt - suggesting he considers oral hygiene to be of paramount importance to a jihadi on Syria's frontline.

Abu Basir is also the star of Nusra Front's latest anti-ISIS propaganda video, which was released yesterday. In the 15-minute clip, the well-spoken Briton tours the western Syrian city of Ariha, visiting a bloodstained mosque which was the subject of an ISIS bomb attack during Ramadan.

Bizarre: Calling himself Abu Basir al-Britani, the militant is seen in the Syrian town of Baraghedeh carrying a toothbrush tucked into an ammunition belt packed with loaded assault rifle magazines
