Mexborough man jailed for multiple rape of girl aged seven

A South Yorkshire rapist who abused his seven-year-old victim on multiple occassions is now facing a lengthy term behind bars.

Yahia Ali aged 45, of Cowood Street, Mexborough, was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleaded guilty to seven counts of rape against the schoolgirl in Doncaster.
Police were called after the seven-year-old victim disclosed that Ali had abused her back in March 2015.
Temporary Detective Sergeant Laura Jones said after the sentencing: “The victim has shown exceptional bravery in this case and should be commended for her courage in coming forward.
“Ali subjected a vulnerable young girl to horrific sexual abuse and I hope the victim and her family are reassured by the significant jail term handed to him today.
“We are firmly committed to the protection of children and will take swift action against any individual believed to be responsible for these despicable crimes.”
South Yorkshire Police said they were not releasing a photograph of Ali following consultation with the victim.
