A drunken father who battered his ex-wife in front of their ten year old daughter after he was invited to a Boxing Day family cinema trip has been jailed.
Mohammed Osman, 37, left his ex with a hairline fracture of the jaw after he hit her at least five times when she tried to go home with their child because he was drinking heavily.
Osman had earlier been invited to the Parrswood cinema and tin-pin bowling complex in Didsbury, Manchester by his former partner so he could see their daughter.
But shortly after their arrival he bumped into his cousin and they ended up at the bar - leaving the little girl to play arcade games with her mother.
When the two tried to leave, Osman launched a brutal attack on his ex-wife.
During the ensuing assault the tearful youngster tried to stop Osman attacking her mother saying: 'Don't Daddy, don't' but she was bundled out of the way.
The woman was grabbed by the scarf she was wearing around her neck as she walked towards her tram stop and was repeatedly hit about the head as the child called for help.
At Manchester Crown Court, Osman, from Longsight, Manchester admitted causing grievous bodily harm to his ex, assaulting his daughter and breaching a restraining order and was jailed for 20 months. He will now be subject of an indefinite restraining order.
Police who arrested Osman discovered he had a lengthy history of abuse behaviour towards his former partner, with whom he split in 2016 after a ten year relationship.
In October 2015 he was given a suspended jail term after grabbing her by the throat, dragged her by the hair and punched her during a drunken argument.

In January 2016, he went to her home and spat at her through a letterbox and was issued with a restraining order which banned him from contacting her.
But only a month later, his ex-wife woke up in the middle of the night to find Osman in her bedroom and he was subsequently jailed.
In July 2017 he was back before the court after attacking her when he grabbed her by the throat and pulling her to the ground by her hair and punching her.
Ruling on the latest assault, judge Timothy Smith said: 'This was for a Christmas visit for you see your daughter. The victim felt as a mother, this was an important thing for you to do. But there you bought drink and there came a time when she wished to leave with your daughter who was now bored as you had spent some time with your cousin and drinking.
'You did not want to leave but she did and there was an argument. You were walking towards the tram and you grabbed her by the scarf she was wearing around her neck.
'You daughter who well aware of what was likely to take place pleaded with you but you pushed her out of the way - then proceeded to assault your ex-wife hitting her about the head many times and hard.'
He added: 'This was a sustained attack on your former wife in a public space aggravated by drink and also in the presence of your ten year old daughter who had to witness yet again abusive and violent conduct by you towards her mother.
'Whilst they is no indication she suffered physical harm during the incident it is more likely the harm she suffered was the continuing psychological harm of seeing you her father assaulting her mother.
'You have shown resistance in the past to any help offered, breached court orders and showed no demonstration to me that you are someone who would comply.'
