Police officer suffers serious injuries after being repeatedly stabbed responding to 999 call,”

A COP was left with serious injuries after being repeatedly stabbed responding to 999 call.
Sergeant Carl Blanks, 47, was rushed to hospital after he was knifed while responding to reports of a disturbance in Newport, Wales.
The cop lost a litre and a half of blood – now recovering after emergency surgery.
Mohammed Ibrahim, 33, today appeared in court today charged with attempting to murder the police officer.
Sudan-born immigrant Ibrahim is also charged with attempting to wound another office, Sgt Leighton Healan, in the incident on Thursday.
He faces a further charge of arson after trying to set fire to his home in Newport, South Wales, while the two officer were inside.
Ibrahim appeared by video link and wore a coronavirus face mask throughout the 10-minute hearing.
Police had been called to Ibrahim’s home at 5.15am on Thursday after neighbours heard a disturbance but were too afraid to investigate because of potential exposure to Covid-19.
Cardiff magistrates heard the officers tasered Ibrahim but he recovered instantly and pulled out a knife.
Sgt Blanks was stabbed several times in the abdomen before Ibrahim set fire to the property in St. Vincent’s Lane, close to Newport city centre.
Ibrahim allegedly tried to stab Sgt Healan after the fire was started and was tasered several times during the incident.
The court heard Ibrahim was overpowered by officers after climbing onto the roof of the terraced house.
An application for bail, made in Arabic through an interpreter, was refused by District Judge Stephen Harmes….
