Gang leader 'incredibly violent'

The most dangerous member of the gang which killed Pc Sharon Beshenivsky was Muzzaker Imtiaz Shah from London.

Police say Shah, 25, was hand-picked to carry out the armed robbery in Bradford because of his ruthless nature.

Detectives believe he was part of a notorious London gang - Thug Fam - and had a distinctive five-star tattoo on his arm, in keeping with other members.

The officer who led the investigation, Det Supt Andy Brennan, described Shah as "extremely dangerous".

He said Shah was "incapable of distinguishing how precious life is and has the ability to kill again in the future."

Most violent

He also described him as "incredibly violent", adding: "Put a gun in his hand and he becomes very dangerous, very unpredictable."

Police say the robbery was carefully planned and involved up to seven different men, three vehicles, two guns and a knife.

But of all of those involved, detectives pinpointed Shah, who admitted murder, robbery and firearms offences, as the most violent.

Yusuf Jamma was found guilty of murder, which he had denied

Yusuf Abdillh Jamma, 20, from Small Heath, Birmingham, also had links with the Thug Fam in London, and had the same tattoo as Shah.

He told the jury he shot Pc Beshenivsky - but insisted it was an accident.

But jurors found him guilty of murder and firearms offences, and he admitted robbery.

Mr Brennan described him as a "cunning, evil criminal".

He added: "He (Jamma) only had one motive in mind - which was money."

Jamma was the first man to be arrested, a week after the robbery.

Key figure

He was questioned by police about an unrelated matter, when a quick-thinking officer recognised him from 'wanted posters' which had been distributed around the country following the Bradford shootings.

Hassan Razzaq, 26, from Forest Gate in London, was said by police to have been a key figure in planning the robbery.

Mustaf Jamma is thought to have fled to Somalia

The court heard he made a reconnaissance trip to the scene of the raid five days beforehand. He made a 400-mile round trip from London to Yorkshire in an Audi car.

Faisal Razzaq, 25, from Forest Gate in London, is the younger brother of Hassan.

Police said he was one of the look-outs for the gang carrying out the robbery.

On the run

The court was told his Toyota Corolla was part of the three-car convoy which went from Leeds to Bradford on the day of the robbery.

The two brothers were cleared of Pc Beshenivsky's murder but found guilty of manslaughter and robbery.

Two men, 25-year-old Mustaf Jamma and Piran Ditta Khan, remain on the run.

Mustaf, who is the elder brother of Yusuf Jamma, is thought to have fled to Somalia, where the brothers are originally from.

Mr Brennan said the investigation into Pc Beshenivsky's murder would continue until he and Piran Ditta Khan were caught.

"We intend to ensure that all outstanding suspects are arrested and brought before the courts."
