Girl raped in street attack

A 13-year-old girl has been snatched off the street and raped, police have said.
The youngster was walking along a street in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, on Sunday afternoon when she was attacked.

The girl had left a Texaco garage on Bury Road in the Bamford area of the town at around 2.45pm.
She saw a man standing in a back alley off the road, who minutes later caught up with her before pushing her to the floor then raping her.
The girl eventually managed to struggle free and fled.
Detective Chief Inspector Jeff McMahon, said: "The victim has obviously been traumatised by this attack and the CID team are working hard to catch the person responsible.
"Whilst this is a nasty offence, I wish to reassure members of the public and the local community that this is a rare event."
The suspect is described as an Asian man in his early 20s, with a shaven head and a beard
